Agreed, I had misgivings about the S Pen not being flush with the back like it is on the Note 2, but it actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it did. I did, however, tried pulling the S Pen out and putting it back in several times and it's nowhere near as smooth as the Note 2. It's like the housing for the S Pen needs to be worn in or something (at least that's what I hope) for it to go in and come out smoother. And despite the new design, it was harder for me to get a grip on the Pen to pull it out (even with my finger nails) than the one on the Note 2. I'm not happy about that at all. I have my fingers crossed that Samsung will offer a different Pen for the Note 3 but I know that's unlikely.
