With the 28mb patch most of the issues went away, but I am still experiencing a high degree of drain on the battery. Anyone have any ideas.

Factory reset. I did one after the patch, and even the original 4.3 and my battery life is through the roof.

Exactly what I did - when you re-enter your Google account all the services seem to get a fresh start.

Thanks for the help. Will check the battery over night.

When you perform a factory reset, does that render the phone as delivered from store? In other words, do you have to re-install apps and set settings?

Yes it will be like it came out of the box, and you will have to re-install apps and redo the settings the way you like it to be.

Seems like the reset works. Thanks all.

I did only the soft reset (clear cache) after getting the small update to 4.3. Battery life is definitely better than 4.2.2, but still not what I expected from this phone (purchased in June). Overall I'm very happy with the phone, but wish I could get two days out of it like my previous iPhone 4. It's just a little bit less than my wife's iPhone 5.

Ladies and Gents.
I had the same battery drain issue after the update. I was getting barely 3-4 hours of use and yes I am a power user. I went ahead and reseted the phone to factory settings. I know it is a pain on our 6, but I can tell you that my battery has improved to a full day of power usage. It has been almost 11 hours and I still have 47%. I am super happy so far. Will continue to monitor the battery for the next couple of days. If you still having battery drain issues, go ahead and reset to factory.:)

If I update to 4.3 from 4.2.2 will I have to reformat my sd card or can I just update>factory reset and put my sd card back in?

FWIW my S4 with 4.3 (pre MK2) had excellent battery life during a 10 day tour of Europe on roaming all the time. Better than I had with 4.2. I disabled Sync so that helps. But I also streamed TuneIn Radio a few hrs a day too with very little battery drain. Impressive.

Before doing a factory reset, is it suggested to back everything up to the programs Keys (I think)? Will that re-install all of my apps like iTunes does for the iPhones? I'm updating now, and am afraid that I will have these battery issues. Just looking for the least amount of headache when doing a factory reset.

Thx in advance!
