Atrix Pre-Order Issues

Could certainly be. Since in-store orders (to my knowledge) aren't shipped to the consumer and are instead set for pickup at the location they pre-ordered at, maybe there's no need for that message?

My previous phones (besides the N1 of course) have been ordered from the store and delivered to my home. You can opt for in-store pickup though.

I ordered mine in the store at 10:30am on 2/13/2011. My status still says in progress. Mine doesn't have the backorder status though. It just says in progress. I cant wait though. I'm switching from the iPhone to the Atrix 4G.

I have the same Back Ordered status on my premiere order. I actually had my premiere account representative pre-order mine for me. I asked her why the Back Order status and she advised it's because the device is not in stock at this time and it's simply a place holder at this point. When she pre-ordered a couple of iPhone 4's for my company back in July we saw the same information. They both arrived ahead of scheduled release... so I would not read too much into this or worry about it at this point. We're still 2 1/2 weeks from scheduled shipment at this point.

On a side note, long time reader first time poster, so Hello to everyone. Currently using the Inspire 4G as a "stop gap" until the Atrix arrives.

i have found two different places to view my order. one looks just like the table above and has the backorder column. the other location has a table that looks very similar but has in text above the right side of the table "Shipment Status: Back-ordered"

OP said anything about estimated delivery. I think the backorder discussion is relevant.

I think it would be easy to tell when people start receiving tracking numbers- the discussion here would take a very different turn...

So, with all the free time I've had not playing with my Atrix it has allowed me time to create conspiracy theories.

My most recent, most awesome theory is...

I bet it takes a long time to unbox 1000s of phones, install 2.3 (or better yet, 2.4), repackage and ship them out. This my dear friends is why our phones are "back-ordered".

Holy crap...yours shipped?!!?!?! Is that for real? When did you order? I ordered at about 12:40 AM on the 13th (EST). My order still says In Progress.

Could this be for real? Would they ship them out that much earlier than the March 6th date?

If you punch in the tracking number on the FedEx site, you get nothing so I say Photochop.

Must be a cruel joke...I just checked the FedEx tracking number and it is invalid.
