Update 4.1.57 to be released 3/29

11:00pm EST, and my phone is downloading the update.

1st thing I'm noticing is a lot more detailed battery usage statistics screen. Actually broken down by applications and giving me a percent for each.

Fingerprint reader worked just about every time I tried it, whereas before there were a few attempts to unlock where my finger was right on the thing but it didn't pick it up.

Facebook notifications seem to be working where it's popping up in my top bar.

I got it too. You have to connect to wifi then check for updates. On another forum there are people saying they can't get it because it is "recalled." Can anyone confirm this? I already have it installed.

Version 4.1.57 ......

Ok peeps system version 4.1.57 released today...

let us know what your first impressions are, do you notice any difference or improvements? Its going out via notification slowly but if you don't get it go to settings>about phone>system update. It should prompt you to download. It might say you system is up to date so check later in the day. Reports are coming in that people are receiving the update from Motorola's mobility help forums.

:):D

Update 1: Reports are coming in that Version 4.1.57 has been recalled. Stay posted for more.

Update 2: Have some links so you can check out.

Update 3: Installed to version 4.1.57 on both mines and my wife's and everything has gone smoothly. Took five minutes each.

Its should show searching for any updates or somewhere along those lines. Starting to hear that it has been recalled for some reason but I will try to get some confirmation. I will update my post if it is.

I downloaded and installed the update. I am now stuck on the Edge network. Is anyone else who installed the update having this problem?

Some people are getting the update and some are getting the recalled notification. There might be a issue with with the update and thats why it might of been recalled. I know some people where successful with the update and no hiccups but very few. Or it could just be they are adding some things to the update. Who knows.

Wierd. Im sure it will be taken care of soon. You will loose root if your rooted. As of right now, they havent figured out how to Root yet. But Im sure they will get it going. The Devs are incredible. So honestly, Yes.......Its worth losing root for the update. Get the Update. And learn the phone properly to keep getting updates. Root will always be around. But if you cant update to fix issues that would make it that much better for you, then you would be stuck.

Will this update auto update if you're connected to wifi or only if you check for system updates? Is there any way to disable the update? i.e. freeze "Updater 2.2.1?"

I had to check for the update to get it so it did not auto update for me. Also people on XDA are working on getting root back so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Go ahead upgrade and enjoy the new features root will come back.

Thanks for this. Was this only applicable to beta testers?

Nope, I am not a beta tester and just updated to 4.1.57. Download went fast as I was on WiFt then it reboots and you need to be real patient as it takes a while to install everything but it finally came back up. I still have to play with it to see how it compares but at least I did not brick my phone.
