I had tried Kit Kat on my former S4 but the battery sucked after the update. I'm not sure if this update for the Note 3 will be any better.

Battery life seems to have been improved with this 4.4.4 update.

Any explanation why I can never do an over the air update. When the KK update came out I had to go into my local Best Buy to get that loaded on. I always get this same message when attempting to get updates.

Kies says I have the latest update at 4.3...and when I do the OTA update it fails. Any ideas? Can I download it somewhere and use odin?

My issue is I am on nb4...so I don't think that method will work because it says you must be on nc5. However it has the stock nc5 files there so I will try that. Thank you

The phone updated to 4.4.4 without a hitch after removing the Towelroot. ...But I have not tried to re-root it yet. I was waiting to hear more from the forum before I tried that.

I have an AT&T N3 on a T-Mobile network. I tried the update last night (I was Towelrooted) the 459.05MB update downloaded but then it failed to install. Right now I'm trying again after forwarding my clock to Sunday.. The download is coming in right now. I already unrooted this morning, I'm just not sure if by being on a T-Mobile network will also stop the update.. I guess only time will tell.. (About 1hr from now..)

Anyone have any comments/thoughts? I'll update this post in an hour or so once I know for sure..

Sitting on the edge of a cell tower coverage in the middle of nowhere county park I can still get the forum and reply. Neat. Don't think (first time at this locale) it would have been this easy before.

Google Wallet requires HCE (Host Card Emulation), which was added in Kitkat -- that's why Wallet is Kitkat-only now. Unfortunately the Note 3, along with a very few other phones, doesn't have a driver which supports HCE. You'll have to complain to Samsung, but until they start including that driver no update will be able to add tap'n'pay.

Best Buy said they coudnt do it yesterday. My knox is at 0x0 but they plugged it in, and 3 seconds later they said they couldnt do it. the guy was a jackass.

I hate the 24 hour in between thing. Its really annoying. I checked early after reading something about it being out and then had to wait 24 more hours but mine worked perfectly
