Attention Evo Owners - Is the phone too big?

When I first got it I thought it was huge my wife and kids laughed at the size my wife started to play with it now is the proud owner of an evo, and she loves it.

i think the size is very good. I was wondering the same thing when i first heard about the size, it was the only turn off for me. Im a guy who always gets small phones, before evo i had an htc touch and a pre, both of the phones are small. it fits in my pockets just fine and it doesnt feel like it bulged my pocket any more than like my pre. the pre was small, but it was still fairly thick. evo on the other hand is way thinner so its less of a bother in a pocket.
the screen real estate is amazing too. once you get used to the evos screen you wont believe how tiny and crammed an iphone screen looks.

Coming from a Curve and working with Blackberries at work all the time, no. The screen is awesome.

Last week I was using a Blackberry 8330 with the Otterbox defender case and upgraded to the Bold 9650. Well after I had that phone for a whole 12 hours I took it back and went through 17 phones at Best Buy to try and find one that didnt have a crooked trackpad. With no luck finding a device that fit my quality standards for a $200 device I looked over and saw the EVO and said give me on of those instead. It is a very large device but I have huge hands and it fits great in my hand. I do hate carrying it in my pocket though with a silicon case but I am just holding out for the Otterbox defender case to come out for the EVO. Think how big it will be then!!! But atleast it will have a belt clip and major protection.

no it's not too big. size is perfect and easily pocketable with jeans or suit jacket.

Well there is a limit to pocket size.unless clothing changes I think we are pretty close to the maximum size of phones. Also at a certain point hand size comes into play. I have small hands and I need to stretch to hit the home button with my right thumb if I am holding the phone in my right hand. But I am sure someone will figure out as new input method that will change everything.

I have tiny hands and am female. It is not too big. It is slightly larger than the iphone. Love it. I do like how thin it is, if it were any thicker I would not like it.

I agree. The slim lines make up for the larger dimensions. I like how it fits in my pocket better than the palm pre.

Great size. The iPhone feels as if it is a small, fake phone designed for my granddaughter. Screen size is awesome!

It was big when I first got it now it feels just right. The size of the display is perfect for web browsing. My iPod touch looks like a little toy now.

not at all, i had a pre and while it was small it was pretty thick. I love the size of this phone. I unlock iphones in my area and after using the evo for a week and picking up an iphone again that thing felt like a cheap china knockoff that are always sold on craigslist. just felt really light and cheap/small. When you set the phones next to eachother they arent that much of a difference in size the evo just has no huge bezel wrapping the screen. IMHO its awesome

When the specs first came out I wanted a EVO so bad...

Then they released the pics of the EVO aside the iPhone and I said HELL NO!

I have always thought that the iPhone was too big. The Day the EVO was in stores I stopped in and said to myself that I would just check it out.

The rep had his that he let me put in my pocket and play with it for about 5 minutes. After I gave it back to him, I messed with my Hero for a bit to compare and the Hero felt like a fake toy!!!

I walked out the door with a new EVO and have never regret buying it and I will probably never go to anything much smaller. My wife's plan is up for upgrade in about 40 days and she is hoping for something along the lines of the Aris to come Sprints way, more her size!

A friend of mine returned hers AND switched to Verizon for the Incredible. Shrugs.. My daughter (teenager) thinks it's HUMONGOUS (or something to that affect)....

For me... it's just the right size.

This phone is the perfect size. I will never go back to a smaller phone unless I don't have a choice. Hopefully this size will stay popular and they will keep making them!
