Can one of you guys msg me if you have an interest in a LS670 with ESN filed as lost? I reported my phone gone, but I've found the old one now, so I have an extra phone that's not in use, or going to be used. (that I foresee )

Yeah I would love to have a second dev device as I have some things I want to experiment with on a non-critical device. Also I plan on getting a new phone sometime soon.

Please feel free to PM me, and I can cover at least part of the shipping costs.

Wait, didn't you just post in the main forum that you bought an Optimus S from Ebay with a bad ESN?

Good question. However, he states that in the top of this post too...

To op, have you since changed your position after talking to sprint? Referencing the times from the other thread shows that you have not updated this post, but have talked to sprint and attempted to fix the esn issue. Just curious.

He actually stated in the other post that he bought one off ebay with a bad ESN, but in this thread he states that he reported HIS original phone lost, but then found it. See how the story conflicts?

I haven't changed my ANYTHING. And it's quite insulting that I feel I have to PROVE anything to someone on a message board who doesn't like what time I posted something??? I received the phone today from the guy in Miami. Tried to activate it around 2pm. Sent email to guy. Received phone call from him at 4pm...he wasn't getting off work for another hour, and would call sprint for me. Sprint CLEARED THE ESN as seen HERE:

IS there anything else I can do for you people? I'm in the process of sending drew a phone, for free, and got tied up with Sprint web-chat trying to clear the phone I bought last week for my sister, to replace the Samsung Instinct HD...and actually lost my phone last week on Wednesday and filed a claim on Thursday for it.

Would you like some other receipts or web transcripts from Sprint? Maybe my Vonage telephone log where Miami called, and the name on the caller ID matching the name on the Ebay seller/Paypal account that I sent money to...

Never understand why someone would give me grief..I haven't done or said ANYTHING to anyone here to cause any of you people to be all "oh, that don't add up..he's changing his story now..."

I never accused you of anything. Nor, do you have to prove anything. However, it was a bit confusing. Read my statement again. I was only curious if you changed your position. That is all. Whatever you choose is up to you, but thanks for clearing things up. And I hope everything worked out for you. Sorry if it seemed as if I was accusing you of anything as that was certainly not my intent...

No, I had no reason to change anything about what I said earlier, as it was all fact. Nothing would change the fact of the matter.

Sprint made all good and swapped the phone from the Ebay seller to me without hassle, as I was on Sprint webchat when the guy just happened to call ...so we worked it out right then.

Far as the lost phone, I don't need it, cant use it, dont' want it. had no intention of finding it when I claimed it lost, and had insurance for the past 4 years i've been with Sprint and never used it..so I think once in a 4-year period is apretty good record.

You're being way too touchy and defensive. No one accused you of anything.

We asked for clarification. .

Two posts about bad ESNs in separate parts of the forum was simply peculiar. Just a misunderstanding since we can't convey the right tone in text. Sorry to get you all ruffled.

Sorry, but the posts below seems to point to me being somewhat unethical, referencing my posting times and such...as I didn't really understand how anything could be derived from what time I posted the threads. You guys don't know me, and that's fine. I understand a bit of apprehension. But in the same tone, I don't know you either.

What I got from it is that he lost his phone, reported it lost and purchased a new one from Ebay to replace it. He then activated the phone from Ebay (or attempted to) and in the meantime, found his old phone.

Either way, it is hard to get the exact tone of voice from a forum post.

Hey, you did a good thing. Drew's got a new phone to experiment with so that will help everyone.

Everyone should be happy, not ripping on each other.

Close --

My sister had a Samsung instinct PIECE OF JUNK. She's been buggin me for a new phone but I don't want to extend my contract on her line...

..I told her to get this Optimus on ebay that I found...

I lost my phone shortly before she received the ebay phone
I received a replacement Asurion phone

Two phones, two lines, two different instances of ESN swapping

As I explained to Jonathan via PM, much of the usual conversation surrounding ESN modification/swapping is about unauthorized (and hence illegal) ESN modification, which explains but absolutely does not justify the relative hostility shown here in this thread.

Jessica hit the nail on the head in terms of what I was thinking. I knew, based on the timestamps and putting the pieces together, that he was not attempting to illegally perform any ESN swapping and was merely asking a simple and completely legitimate question about a legitimate device that he was having legitimate issues with.

I expect better from the community than what has been shown here. That is all.

@Jonathan: Sounds good, your generous donation is MOST appreciated. You can now pat yourself on the back knowing you've helped forward the community development of this device :D
