Auto Restart Function Missing

Re: Idiotic

I agree
Ive used both platforms as you know so kinda get the best offering of both , i was upset with Note line name gone but that was short lived to get hung up about it , im into foldables now especially Fold 4 and beyond.
Valid point, I remember that and I was the one saying it's just a name.

Re: Idiotic

Samsung won't listen if they did Bixby would be a thing if the past, . But I've already sent them a message to death ears. I agree, he got a little over the edge on it, but it is frustrating that Samsung can't just give users choices. This would be simple, auto or set a schedule or turn off. I'm surprised they gave us a choice to turn this new feature off, so we should at least look at the bright side, we all remember Bixby crap being forced on us.

As for him to say he isn't going to use Samsung anymore might be the straw that broke the camel's back. There isn't much Choices anymore, but the more they take away and limit customization the more they get like apple, then for people like me iMessage starts getting my attention as we aren't anywhere close to that with android. That's why I get passionate on things like this when samsung takes choices and features away.

I'm not saying they will listen, but that's not the best example... Bixby is being phased out.

Although you probably don't want that to happen, because if we lose Bixby, we lose a choice...

Re: Idiotic

If someone looking for a restart everyday to help fix issues or schedule one then they have a bigger issues that they need to find and address, those settings are not that important for everyday users .

That's actually a very good point. If someone is using this to cover up the symptoms of a larger issue, that is not good

Re: Idiotic

Yeah, if it's got a S Pen stored inside the phone it's really a Note even if Samsung calls it something else.

You can call it whatever you want, but officially it's a S22U.

If the fold gets a spen stored inside we can call it the note fold edition??

You are correct, I don't like Bixby but others do. It's a choice for both users the way it's now. It's not real difficult, choices are always better then no choice or forced.

It is there. You just don't have the option to schedule it yourself. If you turn on the option they will restart the phone if it needs to be restarted. View attachment 349870

Not the same. And who is they... That will determine when my phone needs rebooting. I don't think so.
I fully depend on anyone to do things for new or my electronics.
It's insane how much people slow other (anything.. people, computer or programs) to run their everything.
No one gets that much control over me or my life. Am I letting anybody into my stuff like that no way

Then restart the phone on your own if you feel it's needed. You're still in control of when your phone restarts. That option didn't change.

What you said makes no sense because even if you schedule a restart you're still dependent on them ( Samsung) to restart the phone. Lol

Re: Idiotic

Indeed, in much the same way Humands can fly and lay eggs, because Humans, Bats and Echidnas are all mammals.

PCs and Android phones are both computers. They have things in common, but they are not the same. ,

Phones, tablets, laptops, desktops....all have a CPU, RAM, GPU, Motherboard, a display, an operating system and a source of power. Aside from size and use case, which to a degree can be dictated by size, I don't see that large enough of a difference to say that they aren't the same.

If you are trying to conflate mammalia with computers, you would almost need to go further than just the classification of mammal. you would need to get to the same classification of Kingdom, or perhaps Genus. Your broad comparison of bats to humans would be trying to argue that CRT Tvs are the same as computers. Mammals would be the near equivalent to 'electronic device'.

Overall, I am failing to see the apparent chasm of a difference that you see.

Re: Idiotic

That's true, but even Windows PCs are much more reliable now, especially with SSD drives, rather than HDDs. Fragmentation isn't much of an issue now.

I do think it's funny that the stock BIOS settings still throttle RAM. Enabling XMP is required to take advantage of the full speed of the RAM.

I think the only type of fragmentation there could be with Windows PCs is between Windows and Windows S. I will admit, the BIOS/UEFI is something that could use an overhaul, or at the very least some kind of standardization as to where things belong within that particular type of firmware. Needing to look up how to do <insert random thing here> on an OEM website because the BIOS/UEFI isn't always the same process between OEMs.

I mean... no.

Windows PCs and phones processors don't carry out instructions in the same way... they don't address memory in the same way and so their operating systems function completely differently. It's very basic computer science...

Unless you're talking about one of the new M series Macs, which are pretty much just massive phones.

Yeah, that statement was a bit self contradictory lol.
