Has anyone else had a problem downloading the auto root? I tried several times last night with each download link, the download would read: "starting" then never get any further. On a wim I tried using my PS3 to download to a flash drive & it ended up working, it took 2+ hours but I finally got it. I hope the auto unroot has quicker download time

i dont know why it wasnt working for you , but yeah its a big file, only because all the RUU images need are included with the download, unroot is half the size

He didnt say if it was the auto root and I didnt think to ask. He came in this morning (4/20). I had to refuse the return because when I send it back to the warehouse and they see I didnt catch the voided warranty I get charged the full cost of the phone. Id love to swap it out for him but not if I have to pay for it. Im sure he will be back and ill get some more info.

I doubt it was the auto root its way to simple.

[WARN]Attention, i would request that anyone wanting to use the auto root wait about 3 hours from this posting, i want to replace the adb files with newer ones, i would post them now but im late for work so i wont be able to post them for a little bit, your patience and understanding is appreciated the files used now are not bad , but the new ones run a bit smoother so i want to use them and see if relieves some of the connection issues[/WARN]

My cpu is kinda old too, but I also never tried downloading such a big file using the "free" or "basic" version of Megaupload or Deposit File so that could be another reason. I checked out the unroot & liked the fact that there's a handful of sites that I can download them from. I've been wanting to root this phone since Monday but couldn't get that file downloaded til late last night. Hopefully tonight will be the night, thanks in advance!

Will definitely check back tonight then :)

Will this be a full new download or just updated individual files?

I hate to sound stupid BUT. I noticed that the the zip file is still on the sd card. I read somewhere that after your done you should remove it. Is this also true for the auto method.

yes delete it, its not harmful, just a pain in the butt if you get caught in a bootloop

do you have superuser app installed?
if you do
on Titanium backup hit the problems button and get busybox update. then reboot your phone , then try to open TiB and see if you have root access,,, if not then use auto root again but use option 3

Attention updated adb replacement files have been added to the OP , click the spinning files to download

Ok.. I'm in the middle of this. I just past the point where I had to reboot, and skip, next, next, etc.. on the setup wizard.

Just want to make sure I'm reading the prompts correctly, but I now have to plug it back in and go over the process again?

It says:

If all conditions are satisfied press any key to continue....
Start root after downgrade, Are you sure?

you are not going over it again, you are just continuing the process that you have already started, so yes,,,,,ill change the wording to say, continue rooting after downgrade , thanks for the catch

Ok. So just keep going until it says it's finished or something? When do I know it is completely done?

Ummmm.....soo.....really stupid question. (But I'd rather ask it then be a moron and screw my TB up).

On the original post page it says the root will wipe all data on TB... How do I back up everything on my phone first? I do not want to lose my apps (well mainly the ones I paid for), contacts, txts, etc. So just a simple copy/paste of the sd card contents to my pc?? Or is there some other/better way?

Any other "prep work" to do before starting the whole process?

Sorry, I just really don't wanna brick this $600 machine. I am tech-savvy, but a rookie with Android (since 3/17/11) and have never rooted before.

my favorite way to back up contacts is to sdcard, from home screen:
people>menu button>import/export>export to sdcard>then you can choose contacts, either google contacts , sim, or phone. do either or all depending how you set up your contacts

you will always get your paid apps back , they are linked to your google account not the phone , so no matter how many times you wipe your phone , just sign into the market and redownload them , it remembers you paid.

ok, i'm having some problems. I got it to downgrade (i believe, it went through and rebooted and i skipped through the tutorials) then i hooked the phone back to the PC and it pushed the new RUU file and superuser, etc and told me to hit a button, so i did and it hung for around 20 minutes. so i unhooked it and tried to start from step 2 and it's not working. SHould i just start from step one again?
