I just realized that this process will wipe and flash, so I'm going to dive in the detailed process and gain some learning experience. Very nice automated process though...congrats on the great coding success!

Were you able to test the temp root portion of the other process? Sorry to get off topic....

I didn't realize you had to hold the power button down for a few seconds...
!

i did the exact same thing when i got the device :D, "i was like, we need to go back to best buy hunny i think i bought a defective device" she was like , "give it to me" and she turned it on right away lmao i love my gf. maybe she should be the adviser not me

My windows 7 PC didn't have a unzipping program, I ended up downloading a trial for BitZipper to do the job.

try downloading winrar or 7zip

Okay I went ahead and used BitZipper since dwmilligan had confirmed it worked, and it worked great for me too.

I rooted my N1 and flashed ROMs like crazy but I'm hesitating here with my TB..:D

Once I get over being a puss about it I'll post back. :) Thanks for this app DroidXcon and the help guys.

When I try to extract the files the "PG05IMG_downgrade.zip" will not extract. i get the following errors with WINRAR:

! F:\Justin1\Justin\downloads\TB_Auto_root.rar: CRC failed in TB_Auto_root\PG05IMG_downgrade.zip. The file is corrupt
! F:\Justin1\Justin\downloads\TB_Auto_root.rar: Unexpected end of archive

I get the second one just when trying to open the archive. did i get a bad download?

either a bad download or partial download

Im not a fan of laptop USB ports but yeah its fine. i say that because on computers the ones in the front are usually not fast enough and they act funny. But yeah its fine
I think u should specify that it needs to be a USB 2.0 port instead of a 1.0 Port... i was confused too at first.... If you could add that to your OP to clear up some issues for some peeps... up to you brother... and great job by the way !!!

Thank you. USB 2.0 helps but first most users dont know the difference.

adb only officially supports the first primary USB port -- these are all in the back of the computer, and slower/older computers often have problems using a different one

slight problem

So I think i've made it past the bulk of the work. Flashed the pd05img.zip twice, and I saw the last time I have S-OFF.

Now it seems to be hung up on something.

Code:
1651 kb/s (94728 bytes in 0.056s)
   pkg: /data/local/tmp/Superuser.apk
Success
1747 KB/s blah blah
1702 KB/s blah blah
1349 KB/s blah blah
*
*
*daemon not running. starting it now *
*daemon started successfully *
**daemon still not runningerror: cannot connect to daemon
adb server is out of date. killing....

and it's been stuck at that point for about 10 minutes now. what to do? thanks in advance for the great script.

you have a connection problem, close the program check your connections and start from option 3 when ready

well, I am using a netbook (windows 7 Home Premium Edition) with 3 USB ports... 1 on the left is 2.0 and the two on the right side are 1.0... which one should I use to do this....????

Okay, restarted program, using option (3); now after the line

Code:
1651 KB/s (94728 bytes in 0.056s)
   pkg: /data/local/tmp/Superuser.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]

and it seems to have hung at this point.

Think I got it. I just edited the script to remove the line

adb install Superuser.apk

after Step three. it said something like mmap(not permitted) after pushing the next three files, but it seemed to have completed from there. Hopefully I didn't screw it up or anything

hmm im going to have to find a way to have it skip that error.... and mmap means that it did not chmod(change mode) probably because it had done it earlier
