DroidXcon,
Thank you for posting instructions and taking the time to develop a a single click method! I hope I sent enough for a Macchiato. In case I send the phone back do you have the unroot somewhere?

Thank you so much :)

there is an unroot method , but i'm still working on it, if someone needs to unroot right away please let me know

Does the link no longer contain the superuser app? Downloaded twice and its not there.
you mean the latest auto root? the MR1 update RUU is prerooted and should contain the superuser app already installed

Thanks a bunch droidxcon I will be doing this tonight and cnnt wait

welcome, good luck

I must say that after rooting and removing all the bloatware, I got almost 8 hrs of battery power (with LTE on and regular use). Thank you so much for the easy process DroidXcon! Definitely made my phone even more amazing. I'll be forever grateful haha

Got it done, would not work on my netbook but worked flawlessly on the desktop. All is good.

Thanks
:D

I keep getting checksum errors. Wants me to pull battery, and restart at #2. After 6 tries, I downloaded it overnight and tried this morning the zip file wouldn't open so I'm redownloading it again just to see. Im on an Alienware laptop with 64bit win7.

thats actually great , it wont let you boot up because you have sometime of problem with it writing to you sdcard. normally it would reboot you and you would have some type of problem flashing.

i would change usb ports , there is some kind of connection problem

Thanks its working great now. I took a chance and started the process from step 1 and it's rocking through it now. Im on the parsing stage right now. Think its going to rock it! thanks for the quick reply and all the hard work!

DroidXcon, you are a shining example of why the Android community is awesome! Rooted it a little while ago and it was painless. Now I get to look around and have some fun! :)
Next Pay day and you will get a macchiato (or a beer!)

very welcome, what did it do on your netbook out of curiosity

Got this error.:
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Someone else posted the same thing in the middle of the thread. I tried all the USB ports on the netbook and it did the same on all of them. Moved to the desktop and it was quick and easy.

for some reason you are missing the files necessary for adb connection
  • this can be caused by the follwoing reasons
  • the files have not been extracted
  • Antivirus may have seen them as a thread and they were removed
  • bad overall download
best advice would be to disable antivirus and redownload... if you want you can screen shot the contents of the folder so i can verify that this is the case

Just wanted to drop in and say that after a day or two of reading this thread I worked up the nerve to root. This is my first smartphone and I was mega nervous, but everything went without a hitch! Thanks! Now to set up my phone the way I want.

Just wanted to say thank you.

Rooted my phone this morning with zero problems. Took about 40 minutes and couldn't be easier.

One macchiato on its way.

just rooted...super easy with this method, however, despite having superuser app, when I try to open Titanium backup I get the normal box to allow or not allow superuser rights. I click yes and it fails to acquire root rights.

Did his hosting site for the updated MR1 file go down?
I was about 1/3 of the way through the d/l, the file stopped downloading...
I tried to begin the download again, and now I get a 403 Forbidden error... "You don't have permission to access /TB_Auto_root_MR1.zip on this server."
Anybody else get this?
Been reading up on this for a few hours, got ready to pull the trigger, then got the big let down with the host fail!
