This is very true. Buying unlocked has been kind of a dream of mine...

But my wallet thinks it's a nightmare. ;)

If you have PayPal, you can use PayPal credit and 6 months interest free financing. Almost every website accepts PayPal as one of payment options so good to keep PayPal credit as an option. Also, most OEMs have some kind of interest free financing option now a days so not that much of an issue IMO.

I hope that is true. I will pre-order mine with T-Mobile :).

Do any of you worry about the screen going to black like with other lg phones?
I am due for an upgrade and love my g3 but worry about lg quality. Am I paranoid and wrong?

I am concerned also. I'm so use to Samsung phones and love them, including the note 7, I would like it better if screen was flat.
Just looking at options on other phones.

Save up.

You pay more by not buying it up front, you know. Payment plans, no matter how they're structured, cost money.

So save up. Pay yourself on a payment plan.

Some of the Verizon payment plans for early orders are actually less than paying up front.

Available for preorder? If available to purchase, we should then see preorders anytime now. If just preorders on the 29th, that means another month at least from now. LG like Samsung are prone to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. LG needs the V20 out NOW to capitalize on the Note 7 problem.

My guess is there is a lot of scurrying in Korea right now to expedite, but maybe too late- unless the Note 7 issue drags on.

It says they will hit the market....not sure what that means

Whatever the case, LG blew an opportunity to take Samsung Note 7 business. People will have their new Note 7s before the V20 releases. Sad stuff.

Samsung is now in actual replace mode as announced today.

Maybe so but I would have hated it if they rushed it and it wasn't ready. I don't care if they steal sales from Sammy.

Good point. Should have been released earlier though. None of the hardware is brand new. The 820 has been around and even the display is from the last model apparently.

I am guessing preorders later in the month and mid October available to purchase. Huge opportunity miss.

So the article on the front page says Samsung will be replacing phones no later than the 21st. LG messed up bad here. They could have easily slurped up a big piece of the pie. I will say though that they probably did not anticipate something like was going to go down.

The sad thing is pre-orders don't mean you have to release your phone by X date. They could release the V20 a month from now but still do pre-orders today. Happens all the time. Some companies do pre-orders months in advance. So there's no excuse for them to not have pre-orders going right now.

Unless they jumped the gun with launching and nowhere near mass production ready yet. Wasted resources for launch.

Yep. Not even like the iron has any new tech. I could see a timing issue if a new chipset or display, but there are none. This just seems like typical LG. Their loss.

I swear they'll never learn. They did the same thing with the g5. Announcement on Feb 21st the same day as the s7, then release it on April 1st, a full three weeks after the s7 launched.

Thank you! I'll keep this in mind!

Rushed?

Since LG announced the V20, Apple revealed and released the iPhone 7, Samsung will have recalled and re-released the Note 7 worldwide. We still don't know when we can even buy a V20.

HUGE mistake.

I don't think they can just change their schedule just to take advantage of the Note 7 fiasco. If they could have they would have as I doubt they are just sitting back. Very few serious Note customers are going to jump to an LG.
