Availability

The lack of an AMOLED screen, plus inclusion of SD card (that even Samsung decided should be brought back), removable battery, and IR blaster are all features I'd be willing to pay a premium for. To each their own.

I like a removable battery, too, but if it has to be a smaller battery to keep the phone thin and the phone can't be waterproof because of a removable back, why should LG charge such a high price? It has to be cheaper to produce.

If it is priced at $800 in the US, I doubt the V20 will sell very many without gigantic discounts or promotions.

There are plenty of phones with removable backs and batteries that are IP67/IP68 rated. They are water resistant not water proof.
I think the price will be more in the ~$625ish range myself.

Very false that a device must have a sealed battery for dust and water resistance. Cover gasket- problem solved, but the rest of the device must be sealed as well. Erica Griffin's video shows apparent seal issues beyond the battery cover.

Needs a better display none the less to warrant $800, IMO.

Does anyone know if you can buy an "International" version that is not carrier locked? And is LG any good at doing updates?

I would assume you can once it is released but it may not be the best for the US. They're just like the other guys with updates. Sometimes they are awesome and other times you stand there staring and wondering where the update is.

I cannot , canmot believe still no word on availability !?!

I honestly was going to grab one if I at least knew how long I'd have to wait ....... oh well ?!?!

LG treats phones like any other product they sell. No apparent differentiation in marketing emphasis.

Right now we're looking at October 21st to be the date for US release.

After watching that gif I completely forgot about the release date. Uh what phone are we talking about again? Heavens to Betsy, Angelina sure knows how to turn up the heat. I

This YouTube report states the V20 is going to cost $800, when available next week in Korea. I hope this isn't going to be the price in the US. It's hard to justify the price considering it's lack of an spen, amoled screen, bigger battery, Iris scanner, and water resistance that the N7 has, even though the V20 has better earphone sound output. IMO, it shouldn't be priced more than $700, if it is going to be at all competitive.

If that's true then I'm a little glad I got a 7+

Changed to 10/17. Looks like the device will not be in consumers hands for another month from now. At best.

Come on, they are still shipping demo units and asked for media to wait and review when they send final units. This seems to be entering end of October, first of November timing. Not exactly third quarter. Which was lame in the first place since was end of third quarter when LG said third quarter.

Why would they bother shipping demos now if final devices were soon and they eat the media to have them for reviews? That would make no sense, but by default LG does not appear to have any for marketing premium phones.

Does the 7plus do anything the 6splus doesn't do?

Yes. It takes away the headphone jack because Apple marketing says you do not need it. Annnnd want to sell proprietary wired headphones down the road and their easy to lose bluetooth dangle phones. For $150 a pop.

I don't like the new home button either. Looking at 6splus instead. Never owned an apple but disappointed my favorite Android features (ir blaster, led notifications, wired hdmi, otg micro flashdrive connections, standard everybody has one micro usb charging cables etc) disappearing.

Are US carriers going to offer both the 32gb and 64gb, or as usual the US market goes with the smaller storage? Loving the 64gb in the Note 7. That alone would be enough for me to be okay missing the V20 if just 32gb. Not a fan of apps on sd.

Only coming in a 64gb
