Availability

this is a good thing, makes the price of their devices cheaper after a few months!

I don't know if I can do lcd, after having been spoiled by Sammys super amoled panels for so long.. had the HTC 10 for literally 12 hours because of this.

I don't think they can just change their schedule just to take advantage of the Note 7 fiasco. If they could have they would have as I doubt they are just sitting back. Very few serious Note customers are going to jump to an LG.

I agree that they can't change their schedule, but why have a press conference to announce a phone and then not give any details on buying said phone? If you don't know, wait until you do and then tell us about it.

Do any other manufactures release phones like this without the details? Did LG ever do this before?

Really asking because this seems like such a messed up thing to do that I don't remember anyone else announcing a phone and not giving these details in the announcement, but it may have happened.

Few "serious" Note customers would jump to LG, but what about the rest? I'm considering the Note, V20 and Pixel but if one of them can't tell me when it would be available, I'm more likely to go with one of the others.

Hopefully this just ends soon and I can get a V20. Just frustrated with the way this is being handled.

As a matter of fact, LG did the exact same thing with the g5 lol.

Whatever the case, calling this a product launch seems unprofessional to almost everybody but LG. Hardly a vote of confidence to customers or investors.

Why launch with no availability or pricing? Why not wait until after iPhone launch with firm information? People that want iPhones could care less about LG.

My guess is mid October before any ships.

I want so much to give the V20 a chance but the Note 7 are being re-released next week already and still ......... no actual firm date of the V20 being released or when even pre-orders beging UGH ??

We are only 2 weeks away until the new Google Pixel phones are announced. Google marketing will overwhelm LG and get prime placement in stores.

I agree that most people who want an Iphone 7 aren't going to care when the V20 launches, except that Apple has been underproducing the Iphone 7, making it seem the demand is out of sight, which really isn't the case. But news stories of unavailability, have gotten this ho hum new model attention it wouldn't have otherwise gotten with adequate supplies.

Is LG doing the same sort of thing to raise desirability, by showing a phone and even giving out review samples, but delaying on delivery to their dealers? I know it's not quite the same thing as what Apple is doing, but what other explanation could you give for this kind of tease them, make them hungry, marketing?

Not allowing people to give you money is rarely a good business plan.

I'm sure Apple isn't all that thrilled with the fact that they can't meet demand, but Apple fans will wait. They aren't going anywhere.

LG's mobile business barely exists as it is. They shouldn't be taking the planned scarcity route.

Really looking forward to this phone. I currently have a Nexus 6P and while it is great, the camera is a step back from the G4 I had before. I still have the G4, girlfriend is using it since her Note 3 started boot looping. Every time I take pictures with it makes me miss it.

I'm also waiting for the Pixel XL and with the way things are going, we'll get the announcement for them before we can actually pick up a V20.

I agree that they shouldn't have, like Apple, gone the planned scarcity route, but it wouldn't be the first time LG immitates Apple's marketing. LG planned their announcement of the V20 the night before Apple's announcement of the I7. That was no coincidence, either.

I hope this isn't true and preorder is this week.

This YouTube report states the V20 is going to cost $800, when available next week in Korea. I hope this isn't going to be the price in the US. It's hard to justify the price considering it's lack of an spen, amoled screen, bigger battery, Iris scanner, and water resistance that the N7 has, even though the V20 has better earphone sound output. IMO, it shouldn't be priced more than $700, if it is going to be at all competitive.

Hey, they might as well go all out nuts. Have a launch with no date or pricing and then go almost two months before consumers can actually buy and use them! Heck, they might as well charge $900 and make the silliness complete ;)

Given the display and chipset, there is no reason to go above $700, but LG does not appear to beat with a steady drum.

The lack of an AMOLED screen, plus inclusion of SD card (that even Samsung decided should be brought back), removable battery, and IR blaster are all features I'd be willing to pay a premium for. To each their own.

I agree however I prefer 700 as a ceiling.
