Available Now: Droid X 2.3.340 Update Discussion (Not Gingerbread!)

Thank you very much, I guess my goal is to get my phone back to complete out of the box state. Is this the best I can do to do this?

remove all applications, bare bones?

Manually installed the update and all is well. Seems quicker and some of the new additions are great. The only problem I have is Quandrant doesn't seem to want to calculate the CPU scores. Also... there's a noticeable lag in typing on the keyboard.

Maybe someone asked this, but how do I get root back after updating? Any known working methods? Thanks

I received an update last night from Motorola, system version 2.3.315.MB810.Verizon.en.US. The baseband version is now BP_C_01.09.07P, but am still showing android version 2.2. When I go to try system updates, it shows that everything is up to date. It doesnt even show the 2.3.340 update. Plus when I tried the link to do the download, I gto error message saying there was too much traffic to the site, and that it has been shut down.

I am having same issue accept im on .320. Is this the update I thought. 340 was?

i believe .320 is the leaked version that came out a few weeks ago. if you want .340, you need to go back to 2.3.15 first

Has anyone with system version 2.3.151 successfully updated. Mine fails with a build.prop error because it is checking for 2.3.15

I did try to rename it but then the applications fail. I am rooted but I am on stock roms and kernels with all bloat installed.

Hope this helps someone since z4root is gone from the marketplace download the apk from a link here:

http:/androidspin.com/2010/11/12/z4-root-brings-one-click-root-to-multiple-devices/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+androidspin%2Ffeed+%28AndroidSPIN+%7C+Your+No.1+source+for+Android+news.%29

Then install apk installer from the marketplace and install the apk via the app.

Now z4root should be installed and run to get root back.

Hope this helps someone.

Could this work if someone posts the sbf for 2.3.40? Could use that to get past the leaked version im on? Im currently on 2.3.20

Has anyone been able to get z4 root to work and root their x after the update. I had mine rooted before and downloaded the 2.2.1 update and it installed just fine but now I can not get my x to re-root. Do i need to do a data reset and erase all root apps and the super user app first or should it just root even though those apps are installed.
