AW 2.0

Hey Axxxxel,

Well, i noticed that this bug is a lot less prevalent if using the Element Analog or Digital screen. I have not tested with keeping the wrist action to wake screen on. I will try today and see if it's any better.

Regarding battery life, yesterday with dim screen on, bluetooth, LTE and Location services on, i was able to squeeze in 14 hours of battery life with 19% left when going to bed. Not as good as DP3 or AW 1.5 but still good enough for me.

So far, i like it a lot as a daily driver, what do you think?

My impression is that the black screen happens much more often when the brightness setting is low (<= 3).
Firstly I thought that WatchMaker is the problem but on my watch it happens also with LG watchfaces as well as Element watchfaces.
Strange...

The battery life is very inconsistent. My watch is off the charger around 16 hrs every day. Some day there is up to 55% remaining; another day it's only 10% left. I think it is depending on the 3G network strength and how often I get out of bluetooth range.

Without this stupid screen bug they could leave it as it is.
Everything works well, the new Play Store integration of AW1.0 apps works good but the keyboard and hand writing input is brilliant.

Axxxxel,

Same story on my end with Watchmaker watchfaces and the LG watchfaces. I ended up uninstalling Watchmaker since it appeared to be worse with it running on the watch (i do miss it a lot though..). The LG watchfaces are also giving the dark screen bug often and i stopped using them. When i installed DP4, i noticed that the screen brightness was set to 5 by default and i lowered it to 4. I'll try to change this to 5 again now and see if it behaves better.

Yesterday i got pretty good battery life but today, it's not looking that good. The watch has been off the charger since 6:30 and i 'm at 33% now (it's 2:30 PM). I did make 2 small calls this morning and went to the gym for an hour (where i used the timer between my sets..). The rest of the interactions with the watch were mostly a few notifications here and there...

So, yeah, battery life seems a bit inconsistent...

But, i'm and happy camper still. Things are getting rosier more and more and we have only one Developer Preview left (DP5) before final release :)

Anybody notice a major increase in data usage with 2.0 so far? I'm currently using a pay as you go SIM and wondering what to expect with data charges.

Data usage is unchanged for me since installing AW 2.0 for the first time back in Nov. I am on DP4 since it came out and so far, things have been pretty stable except for when i try to use Watchmaker.

Do the preview updates get OTA to new preview versions? I'm ready to try 2.0, but will wait for the next preview if I'll have to bother flashing again.

Wow, I didn't realize that this thread was still going on. It looks like the wait is finally almost over. Personally, I am still not looking forward to it much. The UI changes really ruin it for me, but my opinion is completely irrelevant.

Yup, doesn't sound like I need the new version. Which is good since I probably need to replace my gracefully aging Nexus 6 sometime this year.

Glad that I have last year's model if they look like that.

Also with rumor of digital crown and that our LG Urbane 2 LTE seems to have been built for AW 2.0, any chance that the spinning of the crown is actually functional? Not sure if anyone has done a detailed teardown of it.

A teardown of the 2nd Edition or the new one?

The 2nd edition. My crown button can spin. I don't think it actually is tied to any electronic input, but it does turn. That would be the only feature that the new watches have on 2nd edition besides a faster and more efficient processor.

Ah ok. The closest I found is the Chinese site that shows all the parts but not sure if that would prove anything. If the 2.0 update goes smoothly for the 2nd Edition, I'm happy to keep it.
