backlight bleeding.. might go s4 now..

I agree. Some people spend way too much time in the forums of the device that competes with the phone they own, pressing the "like" button for every post that bashes the phone they don't own, rather than just enjoying their own device, free of personal insecurities. Baffling really.

So true

I liked your post but based on your comment I couldn't press the like button. :D

+1. Thought this was an the HTC portion of the website. I'm convinced some people just do it to make themselves feel good about the choice they made. I thought being on the IOS side and reading the negative comments (from non-IOS users) was interesting. I have to say it's no different inside the Android world when it comes to Samsung vs. other android phones.

I've noticed this as well coming from iOS. People always want to justify their purchases, and unfortunately this is nowhere better seen than in cell phone forums.

BTW, USAF retired here as well.

Substitute the words cell phone with car, gun, camera, computer, fishing lure, what have you and you will get the same arguments. It's human nature. people who keep posting the, "Can't we all just get along" comments or, "It's just a phone" are tilting at windmills (and wasting their breath). It's fun, challenging and rewarding to do verbal gymnastics in a Forum. Obviously forum commenters enjoy the joust or they wouldn't be coming back. So to all you peace makers out there, why bother?

I like to have a challenge sometimes. And you're right, sometimes it's fun to have a battle of the wits with an unarmed person that owns a phone different than yours. But why not put the energy into helping someone who needs it rather than continuously bashing a phone you don't own? Never used? Had an intimate relationship with? Spending time in a different forum can be helpful, insightful, and help maybe make a purchase in the future for you or a loved one. But going into a forum that you have no physical attraction to and starting a flame debate is asinine, and just plain idiotic to me.

Is your avatar George Michaels? Please tell me it's not. Cause every time I see it, I cringe then start singing " Wake me up...before you go-go...la la la" then ask my wife to slap the hell out of me.

Light bleeding is normal on a LCD screen, because LCD use backlight to bring out the screen color while amoled screen doesn't need any backlight because amoled itself is the light source of the display. However it's really hard to get notice by the users, light bleeding will occur only if open fullscreen black picture, more obvious in dark surrounding.

It is kind of sad because I am sure there are a lot of people like me: I came from a samsung phone and actually had planned on either the Note II or the SG4 when it was time for a new phone. I am sure I would have been happy with either. I am definately happy with the One.

I have no bad feelings toward samsung or the s4, but because of certain people coming into the One forum and continuing to post up crap about s4 vs. one, you start to get defensive and the cycle starts. All this over cell phones, both of which are great devices. Imagine if we had some real issues to get worked up about.........

Agree. I think every phone/OS has unique qualities/benefits/features and we should appreciate the fact that we have access to a wide range of technology options. We'll always have different requirements or concerns about a device we're either planning to purchase or already have in hand--hoping it meets those high expectations. The unfortunate part is that it's difficult from some people to focus on sharing their personal experiences/challenges using that device/technology--so some of us can either learn or become a more efficient users of that device/technology. Sorry for being long winded. :)
