I was curious what kind of battery life yall get on the infuse with moderate use throughout the day. I have an inspire and it is driving me crazy. I pull it from charging at 6 in the morning and I have to charge it at about midday around 12 cause it's already down to about 30% or less. I love this phone but the battery is killing me. Thanks guys.

This is gonna be a hard question to answer as I have seen reports all over the board relating to battery life on this phone. My experience with light usage I can make it from 3:45am-9:30pm and still have battery to spare. Today I took off charger at 9am and now at 3:12 I'm at 45% battery with moderate/heavy usage. Seems everyone has a different experience with battery on this phone though.

Yup, by far the main variable is how long you keep the energy-hogging screen lit up. BL can be ~8 hours (screen illuminated constantly) to a couple days (phone mostly in standby mode, with very little "illumination time").

My standby time can be quite long if both WiFi and Cell data are off, with the screen off. Drained about 10% over about 8 hours. But when the phone is being used, the battery is pretty bad. I'm suspecting IM clients to drain a lot through Wifi/Cell data. Battery Usage shows that WiFi is the greatest battery consumer, but how much can IM clients actually drain from it? I'll try again with WiFi on but with no IM clients running.

Ok well let me ask another question then. How would you compare the battery life to an HTC product? If anyone had one before and went to this has it got better, worse, or stayed the same?

You can actually go into wireless settings, hit menu and advanced. It gives you the option turn wifi off when the screen is off under the wifi sleep policy.

HTC is notorious for having terrible battery life

Well thanks for the very informative answer but not the one I was looking for. I already know that.

I was getting about 7 hours - this with the screen off most of the time and mobile, wifi and bluetooth all off except specifically when in use. I had display brightness set to automatic - I assumed this meant that the display would be set to the lowest feasible brightness for the current level of ambient lighting.

At some point I checked the phone in utter darkness and found the brightness to be dazzling. I believe the brightness control was at around 50%. I also found that if I disable autobrightness and set the display to the lowest possible brightness, the display is still quite readable even in brightly lit roome nd in bright daylight. In direct sunlight I have to turn it up. Since making this change I am getting maybe 12 - 14 hours, much better.

Same here, with everything turned off (background data, wifi, bluetooth, no 3rd party apps running in the background) and on the lowest brightness setting, I can go anywhere from 8 hours of heavy use (lots of phone calls, screen usage) to 14+ hours. The other day I didn't use my phone much at all, and 12 hours after unplugging it I still had ~80% left...it was all cell standby usage.

I also find that the lowest brightness setting works perfectly well in all environments except direct sunlight.

I changed from the Inspire to Infuse, the Inspire's battery life was so God awful...even with the 1600 extended battery.

i was having issues with my battery life, was getting at most 8-10 hours. decided since i was within AT&T's 30 day return policy i would take the phone back and see if a new phone/battery would change this at all. Got the new phone, let the battery drain all the way down, took the battery out of the phone completely for a minute, put it back in the phone, and let the phone charge all the way back up. I am now getting roughly 18-20 hours depending on usage with screen on low brightness and wifi turned off when i am not using it. this phone is amazing now that my battery issues have been resolved

Took mine off the charger at 11AM and 9 hours later I am at 30%. I got the phone yesterday so this is my first full charge AND I have spent the whole day on it downloading apps, texting, figuring out how android works, yada yada yada. Seriously, the screen has been on for the majority of the 9 hours so all in all.... I am impressed. Easily equivalent to my 3GS

Good to know. Thanks. I was playing with the infuse in the store yesterday and absolutely love that screen. I am outside a lot during work and the inspire is so damn hard to see it gets annoying. I think I'll just hold out for the galaxy s2 if it ever comes to the states lol.

I just got the phone on Monday and have gotten decent battery life out of it that easily compares to my old Droid. Yesterday I used the GPS to go on a 3 hour trip, played games on it, read articles, and it lasted 8 hours before I felt compelled to charge it at around 19%. Today, I have been playing quite a few games, including at least an hour of Plants vs. Zombies, and checking news articles and stuff. 13 hours later it is at 20%. I honestly do not expect much better then that with most android devices.

The best part about it is on my Droid, when I would check the battery use, it would be like 30-40% screen, 8% standby, 11% phone calls, 2-3% of an app I was using a lot that day, etc. On my Infuse it is always at least 80% screen and minor numbers for system functions :P . I do love my new phone

dang. how do you guys have your battery last so long? mine probably goes 5-6 if im constantly on it haha.

I wish they would make an aftermarket battery at least he size of the Atrix batter. But not ad the bulk to the phone. That would be sweet. I would easily purchase 2 of those so I can play on the phone more then normally lol

Mine seems to get much better battery life when on WIFI (at home), but it is still nowhere near what the technical specs indicated. It's a really, really great phone, with not so good battery life.
