That's one powerful 747...porn and flash are a true test for battery life..I find the upper half of 50% lasts a lot longer than the bottom half of 50%. I.e. once I'm on the 30% zone drainage seems to be a lot quicker. Half of our phones haven't even been truely optimized yet through software tweaks so once we get a few updates things should only get better.

At this rate, I barely last the day. Any suggestions?

I do everything you say not to (except POP3, who uses that in 2012?) and easily get a days use out of my T3 One X.

There are lots of threads in this forum about that, so search around.

Recap:
Turn on Auto Brightness. Leave it on. Always.
Switch to Gmail or any mail that uses push. Run away from pop mail like your hair is on fire.
(Be sure to enable imap and disable pop in your Google mail account settings (on the web site, not on the phone).

Don't install Facebook.

Under Settings, Battery use, check which apps are using all the battery. Screen should be the highest. Any thing else that gets above 10% is suspect.

The Time / Weather App can cause a lot of battery drain if it can't find a weather source for your location. (uncheck auto-update location, and then put in specific locations. Or get a different weather app).

Don't sync un-necessary things, and never sync facebook.

You should have no trouble getting 18 hours of runtime on this phone after you get past the first week and can finally stop playing with it ever 5 minutes. ;)

Seems pretty typical to me. This big beautiful screen will consume power. Auto brightness is your friend like previous posters have mentioned. My advice keep your charger handy. I get a full days use out of mine no problem. Much much better than my old inspire.
