Battery Life On Pixel 5

Congrats man I enjoy the screen to body ratio as well and prefer this small factor because the screen is still huge!!!!..

Here is my battery usage from yesterday. I had the phone off the charger for 1 day and 5 hours aka 29 hours total with roughly 4 hours of screen on time + 12% left. Impressive for the amount of time I had it off the charger imho. View attachment 328977
Hey, yeah bro! I completely concur with you as always! I didn't even use the camera yet. Lol. I've just set up all my accounts mainly my Google account and some work apps but not my work profile if that makes sense. The screen to body ratio is beautiful. You're not losing any screen real estate yet it goes edge to edge. And I thought that's what my 3XL did. But with the stereo speakers on top and bottom of the phone along with the top notch, it wasn't quite edged which never really bothered me at all honestly. And it still doesn't. The smaller 6-in screen form factor makes it very easy to hold in one hand safely so I don't have to worry about dropping it! I will probably buy one of those thin clear cases soon enough for it but not yet. I'm just enjoying and having fun playing with the phone like you are right now! I made a test call with my wife last night, and I'm not sure why a lot of people are complaining about the muffled or noise on a call through the earpiece which is under the glass screen. further the few seconds I tested it with her last night and she sounded fine. Now, I'm not a huge talker on the phone so it doesn't really matter to me but still. The new Google Assistant which is local on the phone versus needing to connect to the internet in order to work is absolutely perfect! I even tested it with airplane mode on last night and it works just fine. So, if you have no internet signal, it'll always work! Yeah, last night was my first battery test with the phone I was doing a vehicle with my parents on Hangouts for about an hour. With my 3XL 3,420 MAH battery, my battery would have been drained almost completely. I got the phone with about 60 to 65% battery, and I drained it down to 37% battery. not too shabby if you ask me. Of course more battery tests to come and of course I will post the results! I have learned unfortunately that with some of these reviews, you do have to take them with a grain of salt at the end of the day of course.

Well, apparently, my phone is picking up a 5G signal somewhere from Verizon. I took these screenshots of speed tests just now. Downlink isn't too shabby uplink is always going to be bad unless You're on millimeter wave ultrawide band.

So, yesterday, just received my sage green pixel 5 final! As with everyone else, I'm absolutely loving it! Right now I'm full of charging it for the first time, the form factor is perfect for one-handed use! It's lighter, narrower, and smaller overall than my Pixel 3 XL was. Wow! do one other thing I noticed right away is the screen to body ratio is awesome!

Haha hehe thank you very very much dude! Really really appreciate! very excited starting to slowly progressively playing around with it much more so after syncing up my accounts.

Well, so far on my Pixel 5 first fully charged battery test check it out. not sure why my phone is suggesting that my battery will die by 6:00 a.m. in the morning tomorrow morning but just as 72% battery right now. The problem is the test won't be very very accurate, because the second I get into my car I plugged in via USB c for Android Auto. But this is a good showing of how my battery will be used. What do you think?

I've used every Samsung phone for years, and finally got fed up with how heavy they were getting, and the bloat, and the cost , and how badly the batterys have been so I was the ideal customer for a lighter simpler phone

And what a joy the Pixel 5 is and it's years since I could hammer a phone all day at work and it lasts

I seem to be the target market for Google

What impressive battery life! So glad you are enjoying the Pixel 5!

Well, actually right now dude, I'm doing a second battery test on my phone. The difference of variables is I went into network settings, mobile network options, turns it from global / 5G to CDMA / LTE. Basically, turned off my 5G radio. I will post another battery graph once my phone completely depletes. So far, it is looking pretty good though. I mean up at work My phone is saying that I have a 5G connection. I did some speed tests yesterday of course, I was getting some six Nationwide 5G. But it seems that on LTE the bandwidth are still faster. Of course it's not ultraviolet band / Manila made a wave length 5G. So that's what really prompted me to turn the 5G radios off for right now.

You know, as I get slowly more and more used to the new phone, they're just more and more things that I realistically love about it! Automatic night mode, how it feels in the hands, the girls last six glass on the front of it. The sage green color and the texture on the back of the phone!

So, here's my first official battery test from my new pixel 5. Not too shabby. Now, I'll usually use my phone a little bit more during the day, but honestly, not much more so.. and it's usually plugged in for Android auto, but this is a good idea of what I'll expect... what do you think? This battery is a freaking beast!

Looks pretty good and yes it's a beast

Battery is going pretty sweet. Probably getting 15-20% more a day than I would from my previous Pixel. That's with heavy use.
With the adaptive battery on.
Anyone try with it off?

Edit.. Got this out of it today.
Less usage than normal though but still...
About to go to bed now around 10ish pm. Charged this morning now still around 60%. Awesome.

I'm finding the dark mode is making a big difference 9 hours normal and with with dark mode on 12, insane numbers

Speaking of battery life, I don't recall ever seeing this before. When I pull down the top nav screen I see a "time left" next to my battery. I only recall seeing a percentage previously. Screenshot_20201121-093716.jpg

I have mine set to show battery % next to phone - don't get what you have.
If I turn off % - I get what you got.

Yeah, what happens is that when you pull down your quick settings in your notification shade, the battery percentage turns into you're eta for time left until your battery dies.

Yeah, dude, dark mode certainly makes a big difference in battery powers and it's much easier on the eyes, that's for sure!

Yeah, I've got adaptive battery turned on which does seem to help , but I've already tried turning always on ambient display off I. Order to see if that'll save anymore screen display battery. I don't think that is a very realistic test however, because the always on ambient display is one of the most useful /functional features of the entire phone. Lol I will say that I am starting to slowly also get use to the extreme battery saver mode which literally turns off apps that you don't want using you're battery when it's low, and also turns off all of the notifications for the apps ad well. Very interesting feature indeed.

When my notification shade is up battery percentage shows, when down time is shown.

I knew that Dark Mode made a difference but MAN, three hours?! That's insanity and so cool!
