Battery Life Thread

The battery on my Pixel 2 XL has been outstanding. Went out in the morning around 7am. Used my phone heavy(took pictures, browsing, games). Came home around 6pm in the evening and it was around 25%.

Not really watching it but if it gets me to the end of my day with a little left over than I call it good battery life. So far it's good.

Battery life on the Pixel 2 still amazes me. I love this phone!

I've learned you can cheat on battery stats if you don't charge 100% it doesn't reset your time
Example of untrue statistics

P2XL. Finished yesterday about 14 hours unplugged AOD off, BT connected to my watch, 30 minutes of navigation, mostly Youtubing, Solitare, FB, etc. Five hours of SoT. Plugged it back in with about 45% left. I could easily go 2 days with with normal (for me) usage. Simply astounding performance. I've have it for three full days and, as usual with Android OS, it's getting better by the day. Today so far it going 3 hours 4 minutes, 30 minutes of SoT, fairly low signal strength here at work (-112dB), I've used 7% (or about 2.3% per hour).

Heavy user here with tons of battery angst.

Well, not anymore.

My 6p was a disaster by the end, and I couldn't be happier with my 2 xl. 4-5 hours plus of SOT daily and over 40% battery when all is said and done with brightness set to 50% and adaptive on.

Blue shift - yep, but not anything that bugs me.
Speaker crackle. Nope.
Lickity split -- OMG yeah. Fastest phone I've had the fortune to touch. Amazingly snappy and responsive, and the new launcher fits perfectly into how I use my phone.

I lowered resolution from 2880x1440 to 2160x1080. I dont notice a difference between the two resolutions and I don't use daydream but it makes a pretty big difference frame rate and battery life wise while playing 3d games. Location services was on battery saving although turning that off altogether might save a little more. I use black themes for all of my apps (discord, Metal, Line, Tapatalk, ect). I think that using something like greenify's aggressive doze mode and L speed mod I could probably push this thing to 10 hours SOT. On a side note I was playing this game for 4 hours in that using Oreos pip watching YouTube for alot of it. I'm completely blown away by the battery life in this device. I attached a screenshot of what I was doing for alot of that battery life. Gotta live Oreo for letting me watch Linus and raid a 40 main dungeon lmao.

What game is that?

Anyway, here is what I felt was my most impressive battery life. AOD on, Now Playing on, Wifi/Bluetooth/NFC off, location accuracy high, brightness 50% automatic and night mode on. I think the most impressive part was the horrible cell service. Was in the hills and had horrible signal (always have), to the point where at one end of the couch, I had signal, move to the other end of the couch, no signal at all. So it was constantly searching. Not a lot of SoT, but no reason to be on it with no signal.

The battery life on the XL is impressive. AOD on, Now Playing on, Bluetooth on, location accuracy high - no optimization, no tweaks and heavy use and I'm getting home from from work with 50 to 70 percent battery. If you guys want I'll post the charts and graphs but I'm over the moon about the battery life. I keep talking about it and my friends and family think I'm cracked in the head.

Damn, sounds like I'll be having no problems and might get 2 days with how much I use Android Auto.

Last Full Charge was 46.5 hours ago and I've had 5 hours and 14 minutes of screen time since. Went from 89% battery to 11%.

Yesterday I got 1 day and 10 hours of battery on my 2 XL with a little over 4 hours of SoT.

Jeremiah, do you recommend the Pixel 2? I'm torn between that and the 2xl.

I recommend going to the verizon store and checking them out both by yourself.

If the blue tint doesn't bother you, then it could be worth it. XL has 4x the screen resolution, 1 inch larger screen diagionally for more screen real estate, and a bigger battery which can give you up to 1 more hour of on screen time battery life

Mine from earlier today. Watched a movie (Avatar) @ 100% brightness for the duration of the movie. It was downloaded to the phone from Google Play.

So far I have been getting really good battery life. I am definitely enjoying the phone :) (Pixel 2 XL 128 GB).
