Battery life?

Hi everyone,
I loved my Samsung 6 before it was stolen . I'm not tempted to buy another as beautiful as it is the battery life sucked. Does anyone know if the S6 active battery lasts longer on a days usage?
Regards

The S6 Active battery life is amazing in my opinion. I use my phone for personal use, as well as business, and I can easily get through a day under heavy usage. A normal day is about 16hrs of usage, and I'm usually at around 40% when I plug it up at night. I was originally going to go with the S6, but after reading reviews on the Active, I changed my mind and I'm glad I did.

Wow I used to get just 4 hours in beast mode on my S6 .This makes it tempting for me .

I concur, my battery life is amazing as well. I'm a light user and can make it 2 days on one charge. I bought the Active because I wanted an S6 but also wanted great battery life and the option to use without case and worry about drops etc. The Active is the best phone I have owned to date.

Did you root your old s6? Rooting definitely helps extending battery life in some way. Unfortunately, I don't think we would have root for the active. I had my s6 with root. I would say the active can take 15 % more usage compare to rooted s6, and 25% more than non-root s6.

I'm running an S6 Active with the latest updates and Samsung Pay installed. Battery life is not that great unless I disable the Location service, which then makes the battery life excellent, as the current build has Location pings every few seconds and there's no way to change the default setting to alleviate that. Also, Samsung Pay runs a bit slow and lags. It often takes several seconds (5-8) to bring up the PIN input.

Even with heavy usage, I get over a day's worth on this phone. Of course, I'm not streaming a ton of Hulu/Netflix or anything, so if that's what you do, I couldn't tell ya. But surfing, texting, calls, etc. I get really good battery life from this phone.

I'm like rong above - a very light user - Location Service off unless needed, not streaming a lot, low brightness with a quick "sleep" setting (1 minute of inactivity).

I got my S6A on Wednesday Dec. 23, 97% charged out of box. Did the whole setup, upload Apps from Google Play, etc... and with my usage, finally dropped to 19% today (Saturday Dec. 26) - that includes leaving the phone on overnights as well... for me, the battery is amazing.

As a guy who's always on social media (twitter, snapchat, etc), playing high graphic games such as Vain Glory or Asphalt 8, and playing music from youtube, Spotify and other services, I still end up with about 14-16 hours of use throughout the day. Much better than the iPhone I had before this, better than my brother's regular s6.

The battery life in my 6 month old Active has taken a recent plunge to 12 hours a day battery life. Not sure why. Anyone else experience this? I use a pebble time, BTW. Thx for your reply :)

I'm not a heavy user and use to get 1.5 days out of mine but in the last week it has gone to $hit. Trying to figure out what is causing it to drain. Last night while at work I had it in airplane mode in my car for the 11 hours I was inside work and it lost 25% of the battery. Before it would only be about 10%.

I suspect an app update has impacted our battery life. I too have noticed a sudden reduction, but have been unable to track down the culprit.

Agreed with your suspicions.

I've installed battery history to help me better track the drain. Please try.with any progress on your end.

I have had a sudden drain in battery life too. I'm trying to figure out what the hell it is. Kind of annoying to have great battery life, where I used to get home with 40-50% battery life by the end of the day, and now I'm getting down to 20-30%, with less usage.

In same boat as many of you here. After streaming music over wifi for about an hour, I'm was at 75%. This is not normal at all. 65% by 940 and I'm already thinking about plugging it in.

I can't get my battery below 50% most days and I feel like I'm always on this thing. I love it! There's no excuse for other phones to not get the same battery life in 2016 that we're getting on our Actives.

S6 Active is on top of the battery endurance test.

What's the difference?

Our problem is real, not just imagined. Im at 50% by noon some daus. So what's the difference between our short battery life and your long one?

5.1.1? Bluetooth? Poor wireless signal? Age of phone?

I'm on 5.1.1, AT&T, Bluetooth is on all day and used quite frequently, WiFi stays on whether I'm connected or not and I'm a pretty heavy user most days due to work texts, email and phone calls. Most days I'm pulling off the charger @ 530am and plugging up around 10pm, and I'm usually around 40%. Today for instance was a heavy day for instance and I've been unplugged for 14hrs with a SOT of 4hrs and I'm at 40%. The only thing I don't leave on on a regular basis is location. I switch it on when needed.
