but they are pre-sales - ie already sold.
Shrug, you make a very good point

but they are pre-sales - ie already sold.
If I remember correctly it only launched 4 days early. Hopefully the Best Buy in Palm Desert makes the same mistake the Mission Viejo Best Buy did and calls for pick up as soon as they get them.
19 days and counting.![]()

I hate that Best Buy with a passion. Go to Radio Shack instead.
The Best Buy I preordered from actually said they'd give me a call and set up an appointment to get me all set up as soon as they get the phones in. Apparently they got a bunch of preorders and receive a lot of questions about the EVO, so I was told they want to help those who preordered to avoid the lines and madness.
I hope they stick to this plan, though if I already waited 3 months for this phone, what more is a day or two...right?
Yeah the Best Buy I pre-ordered at said the same thing. They will call me about a week before the release date and setup an appointment for me to come in and pick it up. He said if you don't have an appointment, you can't pick it up till the following day.
no appointment at the BB I pre ordered at, they just said show up on the 4th and pick up your phone.
I'll be there at 10:00 when they open!
"If" by some chance they do call with an appointment, I would expect to be the very first appointment they have, because I was the first to pre order at this Best buy.
so they will probably get these phones in a few days early. it's not like they're going to drop shipment on June 4.
what are our chances of us getting our phones a little EARLY? will the "system" allow them to be run up early?
Best Buy can not sell the phone early if they do they risk losing there ability to sell sprint products in the future not to mention any type of legal ramification since they are in a legal binding agreement with sprint. Now this has obviously happened in the past I actually worked for a store where something similar happened and the Manager of that dept along with the employee who put the product out were both fired on the spot for doing so. Since this phone has a fairly big following and people are obviously eager to get there hands on it there will be a lot of people watching to make sure this doesn't go out the door early. Also as previously stated Sprint will not activate the phone until June 4th so even if they let us have the phone a day or two early its just a paper wait at that point.
i don't believe it. the EVO is not a new Wii or XBOX 360 etc.
BB mobile guy told me theres a great chance they get the phones in earlier than the 4th, like the 3rd but cant activate them until the store opens on the 4th.
You wont see them sold until the 4th at the store i work for. It is a streetdate and usually the POS (point of sale) system wont package or ring out until the 4th. Usually they will set something like a game console release with a 9999.99 price in the system until its date so its not accidentally sold.
