Best buy htc one pre-order!!

it wont come out until the 19th david just so ur aware; im going to use att.com tommorow at 1 when their pre-order starts, I've heard to many horror stories with best buy and phones :/

not sure if the same is true when buying online but at best buy in cali you have to pay tax on the full price of the phone not the $200 :(

other than that though, they've been pretty good with all my phone preorders. last time they even convinced me to get insurance on one of them and then proceeded to not bill me for it for 9 months (but still giving me coverage). not sure that's a great example of a non-horror story though :D

Do you guys think best buy will have a phone on 19th? My friend told me sometime best buy don't have a phone by launch date..

Anyone know if Best Buy is still price matching ATT or other stores? Someone told me from best buy they are not doing price matches on phones anymore?

Part true, they don't price match contract devices anymore, but they should price match outright prices.

I am nervous I ordered a Black AT&T one yesterday. It said release date 4/19 buy "it will ship when in stock". I hope they have stock on 4/19

That's true. When I go to best buy for a price match they call local AT&T stores to see what price they are charging for off contract. Once they get that the price is matched.

They price matched for me on black Friday for an upgrade

Anybody have experiences with best buy before? I heard sprint usually ships Pre Orders a few days early BUT I would have to go sign a new contract in store anyways right? I was curious if best buy ever gets the devices early because I'm doing in store pick up

I'm sure i can walk into a AT&T store and get it too on the 19th.. but his question was for online pre-orders.. since the phone comes out on a weekend would they ship it on the 16th like AT&T is doing

Most best buys (like other stores) will not know how many phones they will have on launch. People have different experiences with pre ordering and their local best buy getting little to no inventory and they wind up not getting the device on launch. And others go smooth. And as far as colors go, best buy in store will take pre-orders for whatever they think they will have. They did this for iphone launches where they took pre-orders for white iPhones but the white one was delayed for months so all those people that wanted white missed out because black was reserved. To sum it up, everyone's experience is different and it all depends on what your store gets and the communication they get from HTC or whoever is sending them the devices.

Yes your milage may vary but it also helps to develop relationships with the staff. For instance, I want a 64GB and the pre Orders were only for 32. They will find the 64 for me and tell me where to pick it up on launch day. Last year for the One X the store I reserved it in didn't have third stock yet. They located it for me and I had it in 30 min.

So would you recommend switching my pre order to sprint or is best buy fine?

IMHO I would stick with Best Buy. I have lived their service plus their Black Tie Protection beats all the carrier insurance. You have no deductible, unlimited replacements, covers water damage, drops, any physical damage etc. They will order replacement and then call you when it's in to swap out. Usually takes a few days at most.
