best buy pre-order

These poor BB employees. I just called my local, (north atlanta ga), the kid says they are are on a drop shipment and still expecting them today/ lol, i said verizon right? "yes" he says. i asked him 2 more times, verizon? " yes yes". clueless. i'll bet my job i call back at 3pm and there will be no verizon phones.

I pre-ordered at BB for RW Points, free $50 gift card, and triple points on a single purchase. I talked to a few people at bb and verizon, 4 in total, and all of them weren't sure what would happen with my unlimited.

However, they did mention that once today hit, the system would change to the new plans and you couldn't go back and select any unlimited plan when i went through with the purchase, whenever that would be at BB. I didn't want to take the chance, i pre-ordered at Verizon yesterday, locked in my unlimited.

I'm good to go. They were idiots with the whole thing. They as in ALL EMPLOYEES HANDLING THE SITUATION.

This is exactly why I ordered with VZ...last day to insure unlimited.

And this is why I did my upgrade to a Moto Razr with the understanding from this BB Rep that I'll come back once my BB preorder of the SG3 arrives and doa switch to the the galaxy. My conract is extended and I've got my unlimited Data!

Now Verizon's Exchange policy may be different. But I was told that Verizon would start a new contact if you returned your old phone. Resulting in the loss of your unlimited plan. I wonder if Best Buy would do the same.

Real Life Example: My wife wanted the Incredible LTE phone rumored to come out on July 5th. We were going to wait until the 27th, upgrade her to a Rezound and then come back in the 14 day window and exchange it for the Incredible (if it actually released). We were told by not one but three reps that if we did that it would restart the contract resulting in the loss of our unlimited data. Needless to say we got the Rezound and she is going to be happy with it as she uses a ton of data and we wanted to keep her on unlimited.

That's what I was thinking, I'm pretty sure whenever you get a phone at contract price you have to redo the contract again, and now since the unlimited is out of the system there's no way to even persuade someone to put it back. I sense a lot of rants coming...

Has anyone heard anything new on when BB will be getting VZW GS3s? The last I called (on Friday), the guy at BBM, said that they would have all GS3s on the 1st. I really doubt it. N e one else heard anything?

Well, that's a good sign Ryan because on Thursday my bb rep in SoCal told me the same thing. Holy **** balls batman, did two unrelated best buy employees really say the same thing? I know AT&T people are getting their 32gb on 7/1 that's when the rep went onto say bb should begin receiving pre orders, if not the first then the 3rd lol

Same ole bull crap. I upgraded to the LG Vivid to Lock in my unlimited. I'm going to do in equipment exchange When my galaxy S 3 Comes in. I hope it works!!! I was told it would!

Not to scare you, just to inform you my best buy guy advised against this because with all the shortages you may not receive "in-store" phones to trade in inside your 30 day trade in period. He referred to the thunderbolt I think where there were tons of shortages and people were expecting to do the same thing and got screwed. Best of luck to you though

Well, if it is not within the vzw 14 day window, I am gonna cancel the upgrade. Ill lose unlimited but, ill just choose the 2gb data. Sucks, but ill have my GS3.

I upgraded through BB (32GB model) and the rep said (with a waving hand signaling "estimate") July 7th is when they would get their order...I hope she is right? but that would be a saturday!

And you would still have to wait for the official launch by vzw...

I was told the same thing by a BB employee, so I upgraded to a Motorola Razr. Pretty sweet phone, actually,so if I DID get screwed by some turn of luck, I'd not be TOO unhappy if I had to keep this one (which upgraded to ICS last night). But the person I spoke with at BB suggeted this route to lock in my unlmited, and I even called VZW to see if I could do that with them. They said sure I could, but cautioned me that their exchange window is 14 days. BB's is 30. So to me, it was a no brainer.

BB and Verizon rep told me about upgrading before the 28th & I would keep my unlimited...we good!

Surely the phones will be in with in the exchange time!!! Don't y'all think? This LG Vivid is better than my Droid X, but its no SG3!!! I don't want to be stuck w/ this phone for two years!

if you are trying to keep the unlimited data plan by buying a phone before the 28th and exchanging when the s3 comes out. that wont work, the verizon document says after the 28th unlimited planned phones cannot be exchanged and keep the plan, only returns

Well, if that is the case, then ill just return the phone and cancel the upgrade. I was assured by best buy that this was possible, because it would just be an equipment exchange, and has nothing to do with VZW. Ill atleast get to choose the 2 gb option.
