Best Buy Pre-Orders

Maybe I will even cancel the order.... I wanna activate it... My inner baby is ready to fight.

I think next time I will order elsewhere. My grandma can go to Best Buy and pick up her phone, but this is not great customer service, I don't want delayed pick up (other people have their phone already) and then be hand held.

I guess my money will do the talking, and I will let them know. Funny in a time when Best Buy is the showroom for Amazon, you would think they would want to make people happy.

This is not an attack on our friendly Best Buy Associates in here, you guys are great and I appreciate all the info you have provided. Maybe you guys should show these threads to you managers and district managers, if they want to save the company maybe some of this will flow up to where it needs for a so things can change.

Just tell them to let you get it and go. I have done this with countless reps and they let me leave and do the stuff myself.

Oh I am going to try, but this is the store where I did leave once without the order and went to Verizon because they wouldn't let me just pick up and go. I even asked this guy specifically if I could do that.
 
Got my email that I could pick up the phone tomorrow. No problem with that. I pre ordered in the store and expected them to activate it for me while I waited. The email says that I need to go to the Store Pickup counter. They will give me instructions for device activation. If I want help transferring the data, I can visit the Best Buy Mobile department. I thought only pre orders that were ordered online and delivered to the store had to activate them. I really would prefer that someone at BB does the activation. I can transfer my own data when I get home since I have to mail my phone back to Sprint. Anyone else get this message?

That's really odd that they would make you activate it in store.

I have fulfilled numerous in-store pickups for phones and I just asked for the credit card used and Photo ID and that was it. Verified all the info, got the receipt and placed the phone in the bag and off the customer went.

Best Buy Associate just called to schedule me to come in tomorrow to active my phone in store.

I asked about just grab and go and he said no we have to activate in store.... I am going to have a chat with them about this in store tomorrow... makes no sense why I have to sit there in store while they activate it. I have done it 100s of times over the years. LOL.

They are not releasing them today.

Yep! I went in with the print out saying ready for pickup. No luck. Told me to come back tomorrow.
 
I was wondering the exact same thing. It's confusing, saying we can just pick it up. Have they called you to schedule a time?

Just curious...is there anyone left in this thread who pre-ordered online (Verizon/Silver S8) with BB for delivery who hasn't either received their phone or at least got shipping notification? My frickin order status has been sitting on "Preparing" since Tuesday afternoon, with no movement, no emails from BB or shipping notices at all, and no scheduled deliveries showing on UPS MyChoice. I mean...Seriously...WTF? I know if I call BB and sit on hold forever, I'm just going to get a spill about tomorrow being release day, regardless of the number of folks who've received theirs already.

I ordered almost the same thing (silver S8+ Verizon) and haven't gotten anything other than my device agreement and prepaid shipping label to send my own phone back. I called in the automated service and have a tracking number, but all it shows online is that tracking information is not available yet. Best Buy online still shows preparing.
 
Why couldnt they do midnight release like they do for stupid games. I work late and could have swung by midnight and pick it up.

Checking out of thread till tomorrow. Please post how your online order for pick up goes, time you went, long lines etc. Will be going around noon to pick it up.

Just got the email saying my s8+ That I preordered last night around 930pm is ready for pick up tomorrow. Just got the text saying the same as I typed this.
 
No luck getting it early at the Memphis Best Buy on Winchester. Nice guy, but he says that when he goes in on the computer it's showing him not until the 21st. Then we can have the phones in that section yet
 
People should know by now that you don't preorder phones from Best Buy if you absolutely want them earlier. I always say I will never order from them again not because of this only but because now I gotta spend hours at the store tomorrow as well. Thing is, they always have the best deals, $100 of is hard to pass on. S8+ for $716.
 
I'm tempted to order another at a different location as I am afraid Best Buy Mobile standalone is going to screw me as far as buying it outright even though I legitimately preordered online. Still in the preordered stage.
 
Same here. It was in "preorder" status till I woke up this morning. I called the automated number and got my tracking number but it's no populating in UPS system yet.

Did you try calling the automated system?

Yep...multiple times. Just tried again. All I get is "partially awaiting fulfillment", whatever the hell that means. :mad:
 
I will go in at Noon 30 tomorrow to get mine. Hopefully walk out by 12:35 PM...LOL

BB sent me an email Saturday asking to make an appointment, and of course Sunday was closed for Easter, I called on Monday and scheduled. But I went in anyway after seeing the update on order status.
