Best Buy Pre-Orders

This 100%. If Best Buy has the best deal next time. They won't lose any measurable percentage of customers because they provided the customers EXACTLY WITH WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD.

So wait are you saying I was told 4/25? cause I have an email I can show you to differ.

If getting the $99 bundle was so important to some of you, said people should have ordered from Samusung so they would be guaranteed to get it.

If any of said people just wanted to get it so they could flip it for a profit, pfft, cry me a river.

But Best Buy doesn't sell the bundle, Samsung does. The fine print also said there was a limited number of bundles available. BB was just mirroring Samsung's advertising by mentioning that if you preorder you could also get the $99 bundle. All the carriers and stores had the same advertising and same asterisked message regarding availability. Whether or not that advertising was misleading (and I say that it was, given the low numbers of people who could actually redeem it) you can't blame BB for advertising it in the same manner that everybody else did.

If you say so. You guys are just not getting the point. So I say we agree to disagree.

People are so entitled these days.

I remember getting phone preorder boxes shipped in, covered in huge stickers advising that the box wasn't even allowed to be opened until street date or the company faced fines/loss of permissions to sell (not even to confirm contents and possible shipping damages). I remember road reps showing up once and asking to see those boxes prior to street to confirm we'd followed instructions. Not to mention that the phones were not in the POS to sell NOR in the system to process until a stock update the morning of STREET DATE.

To behave like a toddler because BB did what was required, and to then treat employees like garbage because you're having a tantrum...

Man, I don't miss retail. The entitlement is astounding. It's a cell phone.

Best buy worked for me this time. I was skeptical after the GS7 and Note 7 preorder issues i had with them but this went smooth. Preordered on 4/3, got my ready for pickup on 4/20 and in and out of the store in 5 mins. I didn't care about the $99 bundle so not an issue for me. And for those touting sams club mine sent me an email or release day telling me they didn't have one in stock for me. So it's not all roses and gumdrops there lol.

i have to say that it wasn't lost on me that you posted that screen shot from your S8+.

well played...well played, indeed!

every store messed up on individual scenarios like this. Crap happens. Best Buy didn't purposely screw everyone like some are claiming. Talking about the general decision of releasing on the release date.

You have a valid reason to be upset

I think Samsung shouldn't have made the promotion redeemable until release day, that way everyone would have had a fair shot at it since it was first come, first serve.

I certainly hope you are not referring to me. I have not attacked any employees on this forum or in person. I am simply having a discussion about my experience and what that means I will do next time. If a vendor will give me better service it is fully within my right to use that vendor.

Exactly. No one activated mine. They scanned the box and handed it to me. I was out in 3 mins. That simple. Got home, put my sim card on from my s7 edge like I always do, and it went straight to setup and 5 mins later I done. Still using it right now and it's the best phone I've ever had. And the battery is a beast. So happy my screen wasn't red. Not even a hint of it. Just gorgeous.

Fingerprint scanner is awesome BTW. It's easier then using the thumb in the front and I have the s8+. And it's fast as hell.
Mine came with a new SIM card, do I have to use the old one? Or just throw the old one away?

Just going to throw this out there.... If Samsung made it so nobody could redeem the promo till the 21st, with a limit of 50,000 the supplies would have been deleted very fast and probably crashed the system. With only 50,000 available the chances were slim anyway. The promo wasn't going to and didn't work out for everyone.

It's only an online form that someone actually manually reviews. If that crashes the system then they got other problems lol. It's not like an ordering and fulfillment system where things need to happen real time. A simple online form and attachment that probably go to some some repository. And you also have to consider that most people got their devices on release day so I'm sure plenty were submitting for the free VR without system issues.

You should be able to use either. I used my old one.

Generally yes. But I used my old SIM with one on a Verizon contract from best buy once and it didn't attach correctly. Had to call a few times to get it to attached before the loan went into default.
