Best Buy Pre-Orders

It's only an online form that someone actually manually reviews. If that crashes the system then they got other problems lol. It's not like an ordering and fulfillment system where things need to happen real time. A simple online form and attachment that probably go to some some repository. And you also have to consider that most people got their devices on release day so I'm sure plenty were submitting for the free VR without system issues.
Yes maybe, but my main point was that the odds of getting one were slim from the beginning. If Samsung did make everyone wait till the 21st we would be having a different conversation that Samsung didn't offer enough.

I registered and the box to select the $99 bundle was there, I selected the bundle but have yet gotten any communication to pay for it yet. I don't know if I'm getting one or not, but I know my chances are slim, knew that from day one. Best buy just did what they were instructed to do from what I've read. Were they available early in the carriers stores?

Well here's what I got, even after registering when I got the one on 21st. How can I register before hand if I didn't have the IMEI OR WIFI MAC

I got a similar email. I printed my preorder email, scanned it and sent it in. I was also really disappointed in the lack of ability to get the 99 dollar promo. Who knows what will happen. On the plus side at least I got 50 off the price

You don't seem to understand the contracts that are signed for these preorders. Best buy would be on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars, if not more, for violating the street date, and carriers could pull best buys right to sell their service. There's way more involved than them just putting them out early.

You kissing up to BB too?? ;)

I'm very happy with how my Best Buy pre-order purchase turned out. I got a $150 discount on the phone, plus Samsung confirmation of the free Gear VR. I picked up the phone on the morning of the advertised release day. I didn't want the $99 VR bundle, but if I had wanted it and not gotten it, I'd have blamed Samsung, not Best Buy. Even a "while supplies last" offer ought to extend at least through the day of release, or else the advertising is misleading.

Considering there were apparently over a million preorders and apparently only 50,000 immersive packs on offer for $99, seems blaming anyone but Samsung is off target to the point of self infliction.

Mod note: please keep the discussion on topic and civil. No need to be calling each other out in posts. Thank you.

I just got an email from Best Buy with a survey regarding my order, so I answered honestly. Having to wait until the original launch day, did not factor in to any of my less than positive reviews (read my prior post regarding my order), although I did suggest it would be nice if they would release early, if other carriers are doing so, and shipments are arriving early. Sure seems like someone at Samsung could sign off on that for Best Buy

So my receipt from best buy didn't have transaction date on it and rejected by Samsung. What did any of you guys use and did it get approved by Samsung?

I went onto Best Buy's site and printed out the order. It shows the date, amount charged, the phone, etc. I took a picture of that, submitted and as of today was approved.

I preordered in store for in store pickup with a pickup date of 4/21. My online guest order status still hasn't move from "processing". Pretty lame and I'm thinking about cancelling. This is ridiculous

Have you called the store yet?

I visited Friday and they said there is no way of tracking and it'll be there when it gets there. And I'm not able to cancel before they receive it.

I got denied the vr promo because my best buy receipt doesn't show that I pre ordered. It says I have one chance to resubmit. Not sure what I should send them. I have an email that I pre ordered. Would that work and do I need to send the receipt again too?

Well you mentioned crashing the system so that's mainly what I responding to because they got plenty if traffic on release day for when the majority of people actually got their devices. And I agree it would have depleted quickly but seems that was the case either way lol.

I got rejected at first as well, then I saw on my (long) BB receipt buried in all the text right above the subtotal there's a line with a SKU that reads: "Samsung Galaxy S8 preorder suc" so I highlighted that line when I sent it in. I also attached a screenshot of my Verizon wireless account order page that showed an order date of April 7 with my device's IMEI number. Even tough I ordered it through Best Buy, Verizon still had the info since the upgrade went through them. I hope that'll suffice.

Unfortunately nothing says preorder on my receipt and Verizon don't have anything under orders or receipts

Print out your order details from Best Buy's site and take a picture of it. That is exactly what I did, and was approved. I didn't have to resubmit either.

Edit: Did you order through BB or Verizon?

Best buy in store. It wasn't the normal order numbers for best buy so it don't show up on my account

Just want to share my BB experience. So I ordered online for in store pick up. I went to the store showed my email and out I went. It was problem free for me. This BB store is in Aventura Florida

I did the same. I initially went to the mobile department thinking I had to pick it up there, I had actually did that before when I got the Note 7.

But the rep there told me since it was online order for in store pick up that all I had to do was go to Customer Service and pick it up.

Now, as far as activating I would had to go to the mobile department... but I decided to just contact AT&T instead when I got home.
