Best Buy Pre-Orders

No gift card because you were not Irate enough...LOL... not that I condone that behavior.

I coulda been rude... and when people or companies are wrong I def won't let it stand but it's not their fault and I wouldnt want someone to do that just to get a gift card... even though I really wanted one. ha. Its all good. I am sure they deal with POS customers ALL DAY.
 
I pre-ordered in the store to pickup and I just got a call from the store asking what time I would be there tomorrow to pick the phone up. So I guess they are trying to assign people times to come in so they don't get over loaded

Same with me just got a call problem is I work so I can only go later might get stuck having to wait until a later date

Asked if I could it today but no chance of that lol
 
Lol a couple minutes after my post my order has gone to "preparing" and "pick up today" What's going on here?!
 
Finally got my tracking info! Still has to update in UPS, but very hopeful I will get it tomorrow (and I'm totally fine with release date, I had just been getting a little concerned). Yay!

You can't pick it up today. You will get an email telling you to pick it up tomorrow. Best Buy can not release the phone today, it is blocked from the POS. (Point Of Sale)

OMG I DID GET GOOD KARMA. Girl called me just now to set appt for tomorrow. and said I heard you came in and the GM didnt even do anything? I was like no. Shes all ok. ill be here tomorrow for your appt and we will give you the new samsung wireless charger for free for your troubles. OMFG. That's $90!!!!! WINNING.

Well going in was the right thing to do. I went over by the phones and the lady there told me she was making appointments for tomorrow. I told her i was told i could come in and she said as was said on here that the manager at the time tried everything but could not get it to scan out. So i said to her well i came all the way here etc and she asked my name. She said since i did a online order and not in the store that i do not need a appointment i can just go up to the counter for online orders and get it and activate it when i get home. She could tell i was annoyed and said she knows the manager said to override but since they could not she gave me a 40$ gift card. So just for going 4 miles and about 15 minutes there i got the 40$ gift card and now i know when i go in i do not have to wait in line or make a appointment since i ordered online for in store pickup. And now i can walk out and activate it when i want but more importantly no waiting in the mobile phone section just pick up the phone in the online orders section and leave

Final update to my saga, for anyone curious. I finally called and spoke to a live human @ BB about my order (Silver S8/Verizon, ordered first half-hour after preorder went live to be SHIPPED, not in-store) thats been collecting dust @ Processing since Tuesday w/ no movement.

Gave her all my info and she came back that my order had "failed pre-activation" and that I should have been emailed to contact BB to correct it (Nope, never got an email.) Apparently it would have just continued to sit like that until I called them. (how nice!) Gave her my Verizon info and she said they would get it cleared and I would get an email "shortly" that the problem was resolved and with my tracking number. Verified they had the correct email.

Two hours passed...no email (again). Decided to call Verizon directly to see if they had used/taken/registered my "upgrade" or if they still showed me as eligible (or whatever that process is called). My "upgrade" status was still in-tact and no trace of anything in their system from Best Buy.

Called Best Buy back. Explained the whole mess again and the lady I got this time seemed to show no trace of me having called in two hours earlier, and nothing had apparently been done to move the order along any further. She verified that they had not put anything through to Verizon in regard to the upgrade eligibility. This is mind boggling. Order sits there for weeks and then just gets somehow tossed into limbo, and they seemingly could not have cared less.

So I told them where they could shove my order and a couple minutes later I received email confirming cancellation (wow, they actually were able to send me an email this time. Amazing.)

Flipped back to the Verizon website and completed their pre-order, which I guess I should have done in the first place. Delivery shown as being Monday, which is obviously sooner than the Best Buy garbage would have accomplished. At least I still have a "pre-order" with a shred of a chance of getting the Samsung GearVR promo.

Been a loyal Best Buy customer for years, but for now, they can Kiss my @$$. :mad: Never again for a phone.

TL;DR - BB f**ked up my order then forgot about it. I told them where they could shove said order, then pre-ordered direct from Verizon, then came here to rant.
 
Best Buy Associate just called to schedule me to come in tomorrow to active my phone in store.

I asked about just grab and go and he said no we have to activate in store.... I am going to have a chat with them about this in store tomorrow... makes no sense why I have to sit there in store while they activate it. I have done it 100s of times over the years. LOL.

They are not releasing them today.

Did you pre-order in store?
 
But Best Buy needs to talk to Samsung, because they are letting other companies release them early. Even if they are not in store. Plus they have messages online and in store call in automated system that says the items are ready.

Hopefully they let me walk out tomorrow with the phone, maybe it is just that store and I should use another one.

Just because other stores are releasing them early doesn't mean they were approved by Samsung. They are just breaking street date.
