Best Buy Preorder Shipment

I got my shipment email from BB.com today! Can't wait to get my hands on it. Should be here tomorrow or Wednesday.

Anyone from OR/WA receive word about theirs? I didn't pre-order, but at least if I know that stock has arrived, more will soon follow. I called BB in the Tanasbourne (Beaverton) area, and the chick on the phone was clueless (big surprise).

So yesterday I went to my local BB, and the first gal I spoke with was nowhere near interested in helping me, and basically told me I had to wait until several weeks out to get a phone as a walk-in. Luckily, her (much more experienced and far more considerate) coworker approached at that time, and I pleaded my case with her. She said she'd check to see if they could still do a pre-order in their system. Sure enough, it worked! I asked how many they had previously for Sprint, she said 2. With such a small amount of previous pre-orders, I have to assume I'll have the phone in my hands by the end of next week, possibly this week!

So I have always purchased my phone directly through the Carrier. What would the benefits be if I were to go through BB on this purchase? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Meant to update sooner, but I've been completely sidetrack playing with this phone. I'm converting from Blackberry so trying to get a hang of all the features.

Anyway, I was fortunate to picked mine up Saturday evening in Portsmouth, NH (16gb White). After calling a few times from Thursday on I was repeatedly told they didnt get any in. On Saturday I called and started to get the same story, but the guy stopped mid sentence asked me which service provider... then my name ... then came back and said "I have it, yours was the only one that came it"

The benefits of going with 3rd party is that they are basically 100% commission-based, and as such, RELY on your business, whereas Sprint (or any originating carrier) gets your money for a guaranteed 2yrs if you sign a contract. That being said, nearly every 3rd party dealer has specials you won't find directly through the carrier. Sometimes they are free accessories, sometimes a discount on the phone, etc...

I was doing a statewide (WA) search on BB.com to find a white 16gb S3. It indicated that the Gresham BB 21 miles away from Beaverton has one in store. I'm not local so I'm not going to bother to call but if you haven't tried and are interested you may want to verify if that info for that location is up to date online.
