Anyone care to tell me if I have any other options?

I preordered from BestBuy.com online on 5/24. I didn't know preordering online and in the store were two different animals. I was hoping I would get the option of picking it up in store once the customs thing was cleared up; was I ever wrong. The same day I preordered it, I got an email saying it was backordered. I tried to call and cancel, but they said they could not cancel the order.

Fast forward to today, now the status has finally changed to: Order Status: 1 item(s) - Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in null - null days. I called BB again and they said it will probably ship out Monday and I should see it later that week. Everybody else is able to walk into a store and buy one off the shelf today, no hassle, and I get to wait till next week. Lucky me. The only advantage is the $50 gift card, but that's the last thing I need, like I would ever buy any junk from Best Buy, it's been years since I stepped foot in one of their stores and it'll be years before I think about it again. I have yet to have a question answered by someone who knows anything; how are they still even in business?

Both times I called, I asked if they would price match the 149.99 Walmart price. Both reps said they couldn't since the order was already placed, and how convenient that I couldn't cancel the order, even though the phone wasn't even being processed for delivery.

Enough ranting... anyone know if I have any options? I thought about buying one in store today and refusing the BB delivery when it arrives, but how do I get around paying full price now that my upgrade is used up by the dillweeds at BB.

Insult to injury: NV charges sales tax on the retail price of the phone, so tax comes to $44.55. $244.54 for this phone (minus a crappy $50 GC). The wait, hassle, and price better be worth it. This is the last time I preorder a flipping phone and absolutely the last time I do business with BB.

U can buy one from best buy this weekend and return the phone to sender when it comes next week. Your upgrade isn't used until u activate the phone into your account.

Was in the same position kinda. Pre-ordered from BB online and Amazon. Canceled both before they could ship though since I purchased one from BB this morning. The only reason u can't cancel is they're shipping it already. If u would've caught them Friday you would've been fine. I pre-ordered in store Friday because best buy had them, just couldn't start selling until Saturday. So, I was guaranteed a phone and dropped the other pre-orders.

Got my phone and pt case for $85 total after tax. Traded in an og EVO and shift. The shift was my ex-fiance's and useless since $200 was owed on the bill. Surprised they let me trade it in with owed status.

Well, good luck my friend. Hope u get your hands on one of these awesome phones soon!

Got mine from BB today with ALL the deals.
Price match to $149 (Target). $50 off for LTE promotion.
$50 trade in for OG Evo, and $50 for upgrade.
They sold me on the buy back for $30 if I got their insurance, which I can cancel immediately.
So I walked out with my new Evo LTE, and paid for one month of insurance, and the buy back, ~$42.
The manager was upset that the reps gave me a price match and the $50 promotion, but they had already said repeatedly that it was no problem, and he approved it.

Well if the promotion is for a $50 GC they have no choice but to honor both

That was my plan, but according to Sprint, my upgrade was used up the day they switched my order status from backordered to 'in process' (June 1st). On a side note, BB was also eager to charge my credit card the day after I ordered.

I'm just going to wait until I get the phone later next week, maximize my 14 trial days, and hope the S3 comes out by July. I've been watching some reviews of the S3 and it looks better than I expected. Between the S3's 2GB of RAM and the EVO's inability to multitask.... it'll be hard to for me to keep the EVO. I think it'll come down to camera features and how fast (willing) HTC is to fixing the multitask issues.
