Well that's a good deal. If they do that for everyone that would be great. Unless, you were able to get that salesperson to do it for you, which is still a win for you

This is from Best Buy's site: "Requires a 2-year agreement
with Sprint and activation through Best Buy. Gift card code will be e-mailed within 1-2 business days of phone ship date. Limited 4G LTE availability in select markets.".

Hence, it sounding like that $50 GC wouldn't be available to use at time of purchase.

Best Buys are getting their shipments, but have a memo not to sell any of them until tomorrow, whether it is a preorder ot not.
I called the location I preordered from and they said they just came in and to come on down. I drove ~30 minutes there, and then they showed me the memo that said they couldn't sell them today!

Looking at these posts, I am going to go to all the BBs and BB Mobiles and preorder a phone and go to the first one who calls me tomorrow. My initial BB must have my picture up by their registers and phones...LOL...........................GIMME MY PHONE!

I just posted this in the Wirefly thread (I finally cancelled with them after pre-ordering at a Best Buy last night), my Best Buy just called me to make an appointment for tomorrow to pick up my EVO.

Obviuosly, it'll differ from store to store, but seems like pre-orders, even ones just made are getting fufilled tomorrow. And I still get the $50 gift card which can be used at purchase.

To say that this is a cluster F is an understatement. The whole point of this was to get it as early as possible. Now we have to slog through and the others who didn't pre order just to get it on the same day. If it wasn't for the GC discount i'd be over at Sprint in the morning. Oh and good for you who have csr's that care and do their work. No email here or call to come in tomorrow. H3ll I don't think they will have enough and i'd still wait more weeks. If that happens it will not be a good day in the BB Mobile that's for sure.

I didn't think about it before, but I hope there's no shortage tomorrow for pre-orders. The CSR from Best Buy didn't say anything about it, and I was allowed to choose my appointment time. She did say that there were no more appointment times available in the morning, which makes sense. I couldn't have made those times anyway, but I wonder if I should have bumped up my appointment to as soon as I could get there just in case. Guess I'll just have to wait and hope for the best.

Just thought of a question: has anybody traded in or going to trade in phones other than the OG EVO 4G? Specifically, I'm wondering about lesser phones (much lesser in my case). I punched in my current phone, a Samsung Intercept (please, stop laughing) into the Best Buy trade-in estimator and saw they give $30 for "good" condition. Not sure if mine would still be "good," but that seems like a decent amount for an older, free-on-contract phone.

So anyone else considering trading in a lower-end android phone?

Why are BB employees not reading the message that was sent out? Managers too. 3 Stores, 3 managers, 4 employees all with different answers. This is insane, it spells it out clearly how to handle the transaction based on different transaction types. It's obvious they either were not trained, didn't read the message, read it & didn't comprehend or just don't care. This should be addressed to all BB Stores.

I just left my best buy in SW Florida and was told that they didn't have any in and might not get them till the 4th (Monday). They checked there ups order and said maybe tomorrow to check back.They only had 11 coming in and preorders were first. They also told me about the memo that came in today not to sell them till tomorrow.

They called me today at 6:30 and said my phone was ready. I had seen the memo about not selling the phone til tomorrow. Since the BB was so close I rode up any way. Soon as I walk up the Mgr reconizes me and starts giving me all these iam sorry about giving me bad info. i asked about price match and discounts combined and she said i would be paying 8 dollars plus tax for the phone. So heres to JUNE 2

Finally, my back order status from 5/22 now shows processing for shipment in null days. I guess that is progress. I'm just hoping to see my phone by early next week. I'm wondering if I should of cancelled and just gone to the store on saturday? I cannot wait to play with the camera.

I'm not surprised with your situation. BB is so disorganized on the new phone it's unreal. All they have to do is read the memo & follow it. So damn simple. BB employees please read the memo & follow! Do you job.

Anyone care to tell me if I have any other options?

I preordered from BestBuy.com online on 5/24. I didn't know preordering online and in the store were two different animals. I was hoping I would get the option of picking it up in store once the customs thing was cleared up; was I ever wrong. The same day I preordered it, I got an email saying it was backordered. I tried to call and cancel, but they said they could not cancel the order.

Fast forward to today, now the status has finally changed to: Order Status: 1 item(s) - Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in null - null days. I called BB again and they said it will probably ship out Monday and I should see it later that week. Everybody else is able to walk into a store and buy one off the shelf today, no hassle, and I get to wait till next week. Lucky me. The only advantage is the $50 gift card, but that's the last thing I need, like I would ever buy any junk from Best Buy, it's been years since I stepped foot in one of their stores and it'll be years before I think about it again. I have yet to have a question answered by someone who knows anything; how are they still even in business?

Both times I called, I asked if they would price match the 149.99 Walmart price. Both reps said they couldn't since the order was already placed, and how convenient that I couldn't cancel the order, even though the phone wasn't even being processed for delivery.

Enough ranting... anyone know if I have any options? I thought about buying one in store today and refusing the BB delivery when it arrives, but how do I get around paying full price now that my upgrade is used up by the dillweeds at BB.

Insult to injury: NV charges sales tax on the retail price of the phone, so tax comes to $44.55. $244.54 for this phone (minus a crappy $50 GC). The wait, hassle, and price better be worth it. This is the last time I preorder a flipping phone and absolutely the last time I do business with BB.
