Best Buy Sprint Galaxy Nexus

I have decided to end my "Saga" with BB. Cancelled my .com order that was on back order. Again the corp. rep said that May 8th is most likely the availability date for GNex. He was not to sure on that either. LIke some one said if you are "stuck" with BB good luck. From what I see this phone is selling like hot cakes every where. One piece of advice if you cancel your order with BB make sure they dont claim your upgrade. I had to call Sprint to have them check and note my account. The bb mobile rep on the phone was not sure that the upgrade was released.

I wanted to give BB my business, but it was not to be.
Gave up on them on release day (04/22).
Looked around locally on Monday and Tuesday.
No luck.

Ordered from Sprint.com on Tuesday evening.
My Nexus has already been delivered to my home and is waiting for me there.

Can't wait to un-box and get started. :D:D

Mav.

I'm gonna have to find a way to get them to give me the bonus for the evo trade in. It only runs through the 5th so if they don't get any in by then I'm losing $50 and honestly this whole thing my make me skip the gift card promotion from the superbowl and just get it from sprint. My upgrade isn't ill May 1st so I couldn't really pre-order so I had to hope they would have stock.

I hope it works out for you. But I can tell you that multiple sources (Corporate, Store Managers, and Store Employees) have told me that this phone will not be carried in the stores. They can only order it to ship it to the store, or your home.....if they ever get any.

So here's the scoop that I've found after calling several resources. After calling Best Buy (Customer Support), Sprint (Order Status), and Samsung (Technical Support) I have finally received some concrete information that might put some clarity behind our issues.

According to Samsung, the product is distributed to 3rd party retailers via Sprint. Sprint will not release product to 3rd party retailers until their exclusivity agreement has expired. From Sprint's Order Support representative, with a lot of time on hold, Sprint will be releasing product to 3rd party retailers on May 7th. Best Buy, though, is saying that they will be receiving product/inventory on May 10th. Assuming you have chosen Express shipping, like I did, you should receive it by May 11th.

Keep in mind that a May 11th arrival date is a full 3 weeks past launch! If you're in the same boat, I recommend calling in to Best Buy and expressing your concern. I spent quite a bit of time discussing my disappointment in how they have communicated this delay to customers. Specifically the fact that they are aware of the inventory arrival date, while leading their customers to believe that they will receive product in a timely fashion (via a shipping estimate and no clear notes on the product page).

I hope this helps.

So you are saying that no one besides Sprint is selling the GNex? Sams Club, Wirefly, Newegg, and all others are not shipping the GNex this week like most of the stated?

No some have gotten pre-orders. I called a best buy in the Frisco area(DFW) and they had gotten in two today. After playing with the One XL at ATT though today I think I'm just not gonna stress about it and pre-order the EVO on the 7th lol.

Cool. I cant go back to Sense the look is way out dated. I had the OG EVO and it was a nice phone but after I got a Nexus i cant go back I really like the pure Google experience.

sams club has free next day shipping and they also a 6.99 a month or 69.99 (yr). Repair replacement plan which is renewable after the year. Also no tax.

Bastards. Luckily I found a Sprint store with stock, they won't hold it for me, but said they got 10 yesterday, and only 2 have sold. Screw BB and their "phone freedom" gift card....not much freedom if they can't get it to you.

That's the impression that I got from Sprint's customer service...

I just got home about 2 hours ago from Best Buy. They got our two pre orders in for the GNex. I am hooked up! I got each hone for $149.99, plus I got 50% of one accessory for each phone. Playing with it now and setting it up! It is so fast compared to my Evo 4G.

When did you order yours?

That's bull. I ordered mine on Sunday morning and have had no luck finding any stock in 4 states and online at Best Buy.

I hope the EVO doesn't go through this mess as well. It is stupid that Sprint after waiting months to release this did not have the supply ready for the demand. This April/May window is when most of the early adopters of the OG EVO are coming up for upgrades and that phone sold a ton. They should have known they needed a lot of these new shiny phones.

I'm counting on BB to come thru for me when the EVO LTE is released, especially if they still have the trade in offer for the OG EVO. If the Sprint GNex is any indication, then I might have to go thru Newegg or Wirefly, but I want this phone in my hands by the 20th if it is indeed released on the 18th.

Regardless, I will still shop at BB because it is the only electronics store that is reliable in my area.

Call bull all you want, I just got the two Sprint Galaxy Nexus I preordered on Friday April 20th today. I also was given 50% off a Portable Power Bank 3000 Charging System for each phone from Best Buy. and a $149.99 price match from the Radio Shack preorder deal.
