Best phone I have ever owned

To each their own. I get 12-16 hours on my TB before charging. On eHRPD, of course.

Folks using my kernels for the most part have little trouble making it through a work day with 4G enabled, too.

I have always used your ROMS and can concur if rooted, your roms can not be beat. Looking forward to the DInc 2 getting rooted and you working your magic. Can only imagine how good the battery will be using one of your kernels...I am already getting over 12 hours and that is with my three year old playing games on it and what i would consider heavy use.

You sound very defensive of your purchase. Screen size and 4G aside, you are holding a lesser HTC Thunderbolt with global capabilities. That said, buy what makes you happy.

;)

Lets break it down.

Same ram.
Same cpu.
Smaller screen, SLCD vs. newer TFT on Thunderbolt.
GSM and eHRPD network capable vs. 4G and eHPRD capable.
Same size battery.
Sense 2.1 vs. 2.0 on Thunderbolt. This will be a moot point once Thunderbolt gets Gingerbread.
Same camera, front and back.
Both support DLNA.
66% less storage space than the TB.

Won't it be a moot point once Incredible 2 gets GB. Its cousin the S already has it.
DInc 2 has Gorilla Glass, it is my understanding TB does not
Strorage can be increased by installing a 32GB SD card in the DInc2

Basically to me it looks like HTC figured it out with the DInc 2. It is a refined version of what the DInc should have been and more. It is the best 3G phone/World phone on Verizon.

The TB is a great phone and is very beautiful piece of hardware. If I lived in a 4G area I probably would have kept my TB and rooted and been happy.

Hey I love my DINC.....
Would I upgrade to the D2 off contract?
No, because of funds.

I still like the Original over the TB and yes I have held the TB.

The Dinc is the perfect size.

?
How do you guys manage without the mouse/ joystick.
I thought I would never use it but I use it quite a bit to move the cursor around in documents.

It has the new sense keyboard with the up, down, left, and right arrows

The Thunderbolt does have Gorilla Glass. There was some question on the Inc. 2 since it's not listed on Corning's website, but the Inc. S is. So, many assumed that the Inc. 2 does as well.

I disagree, the Dinc is a bit too small for those of us with aging eyes! Don't get me wrong, I bought it the day it came out and I love almost everything about it with two exceptions. The battery life is not the best and the screen is a bit too small.

I've got an upgrade to use and have been agonizing over Dinc2 and TB. I have 4G here in CT and really want to get a 4G phone this time, but the fantastic battery life of the Dinc2 is hard to ignore. Still on the fence and may wait for LG Revolution to come out.

Oh and just for the record, I also hate the optical trackpad on my Dinc! Never use it, just a waste of space. ;)

All of this ^^^^^^.

I noticed two scratches on my Tbolt screen this morning. They're fine and small, but I thought Gorilla Glass was unscratchable. I've treated this thing like a baby made out of soap bubbles. I'm not sure how it could have gotten scratched.

No gorilla glass is searchable both my d2 and fascinate have fine scratches all over them its just more resistant to them and breaking

I do.

Sand. Gorilla glass will succumb to sand like its a knife cutting through warm butter.

I see multiple people mention that the DInc2 is better because the 4inch screen is more manageable, but in reality the phone is only about 2 mm smaller (in every way) than the thunderbolt. I dunno I think I would rather have the extra 2 mm and extra .3 inches. I have held each, and dont see too much of a difference in total size.

Go hold one. You'll change your mind.

I really hate seeing these posts saying how great this phone is lol. I want it but I don't know if I want to waste my upgrade on it. I really want the Galaxy S2 but who knows if/when that is coming to Verizon. I love my Incredible and the Inc 2 looks amazing but I don't know if it's amazing enough to be stuck with it for 2 more years.

I doubt the SGS2 will have LTE because of how thin the phone is and how much space the LTE antenna takes up (allegedly).

I think the Charge will be the only Samsung phone with LTE in 2011.

I wouldn't mind the SGS2 to be thicker, with LTE, and large enough battery to last a solid 16 hours (using LTE, GPS, BT). But no, we have to make every thing as thin as possible!

The processors are not the same, so I don't know why that is always being brought up. Much like Intel has multiple generations of processors, Qualcomm does the same with their Snapdragon line.
