Best SMS/MMS app for the One

I've been using Go, but felt it's just not as sleek as I would like. Decided to download Textra a few minutes ago and I'm really liking it so far. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I want to get rid of GoSMS as it feels bloated, but nothing else seems to have list view quite as nice as it. I absolutely abhor bubble conversations.

Textra was like butter, but it was only bubbles. *sigh*

I have used GoSMS Pro for years also and loved how it worked. However, as of lately with all of the ads it has slowed down the app and phone. I decided to try Textra and I have to say it is very FAST. However, I have an issue when it comes to sending group text/MMS. With their current setup, everyone you send the group message to will see all the recipients and be able to respond to everyone. It would be nice to have an option to send group messages as individual messages. Yes I could send the same message separately to multiple people but that is worthless. That is my only complaint about Textra. Handcent SMS and GoSMS both have this ability. I am going to check out Handcent to see if I like it.

Textra --> Settings --> uncheck use MMS for groups.

I am also using textra, but the one thing I miss about using the stock SMS app is the ability to check messages from the lock screen via the productivity setting. Anyone know of any possible solutions/alternatives? I'm not rooted, by the way.

I'm using lockerpro on my lock screen its very good and useful. the one thing I missed coming from an iphone was being able to glance at texts or something else on the lock screen and lockerpro does just that its very good.

I have been using Textra and I love it! It replaced the GO SMS Pro for me. Its a lot lighter and free as well. It even has a dark theme. So I'm in love for the time being! :D

For whatever reason my AT&T one sends blurry mms messages. No matter what app I use, even stock. My girlfriends S3 on sprint sends me crisp mms. Is this an AT&T thing or am I missing something?

Go under settings in the stock message app. Find the mms settings and set it to maximum. I think it's 1000.

Why would any one with the htc one use Go when that stupid black bar is on the bottom and raises the keyboard.

I'm on Verizon and noticed mms quality isn't that great either. I'm coming from a thunderbolt where mms text was nearly like its original image. So that's a very big let down for me.

I recently switched to ninja. I'm pretty happy with it.

Just found out that Handsent was sucking the life out of my battery so it went away. What app supports separate notification sounds?

Stock is good but I recently started using Sliding Messaging, it's really neat. Costs a dollar I think

I doubt the developer(s?) have enough time to give full individual replies to everyone that contacts them with feature requests, bug reports etc.

Probably just got a bit of paper with a list numbered 1 to 100. If enough people write about the same thing, that item gets pushed up the list.

R.
Wow...that's the same word-for-word reply that they gave me when I asked about adding a character count. I now have to wonder if they actually read my email or just sent a canned response.

Used Handcent, liked it, but it had loads of unnecessary (for me) features.

Just installed Textra. Nice and slick feel.

One feature I would like though is delayed/scheduled messaging. Just found SMS Scheduler - will prob use that with Textra.
