BestBuy S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

They called me today to say the phones are in... I didn't answer. I got the email saying they are in stock and I will just go up after work and pick them up.

If they are not there hopefully they will offer more free stuff to make me happy.... we will see.
 
They should have stopped pre-orders on the 20th before they opened up in store on the 21st for walk in pre-orders... We've waited 2 weeks telling us our phone would be rdy for pickup today. Mine still says that. And they don't even have the inventory to cover 1st day pre-orders...
 
What a cluster. Ordered the phone the first day. Went to BB this morning. No phone. I may or may not have gotten a little overly frustrated at the phone manager. I know it's not her fault the phones aren't there, but she was the only one I had to vent at. Called BB Elite Customer Service and the super flat affect couldn't be less empathetic rep told me it could take up to another 7 days. I'm leaving for Europe Tuesday and will be super annoyed if I don't take an S10 with me.

Right there with you just went to mine and they don't have it. After going there last night and being assured I'd get it today nothing. What a flipping joke of a company this is. They said we don't know when we will have yours.

They said, did you get an email that it's ready? NO. It's launch day. I preordered it WEEKS ago so that I could come pick it up ON launch day. That's the whole point of pre-ordering it.

Yup exactly. If I wanted to wait for after launch day I wouldn't have pre ordered.
 
Seems like alot of us are in the same boat with the same frustration. Best Buy, yet again, dropped the ball on pre-orders.
 
Well, is it BB or Samsung not getting them the phones in time?

I'm annoyed with my local BB because they have plenty of stock for the pre-orders that people did in the store on the 21st but yet only 4 phones came in for the online orders. I didn't know there was a difference or a hierarchy for pre-orders. I thought, first come first serve.

I DID do my order in person and still no phone

I also did my order in store in person and I just got off chat with Best Buy and they've admitted that my order won't be there today. they should never advertise that you can get on release day when they don't have enough phones in stock they said I should get it within 7 days "should" they stated they were so sorry I wouldn't get the phone on release day.

How did they figure out it won't be here today officially? The phone manager at the store, I think just trying to placate me, said she knows they are getting several shipments through the day.
 
Best Buy does this every year. They do it with iPhones and Pixels or whatever major launch they have going. They always blame the manufacturer. Its not the manufacturer, its Best Buy selling as many phones as possible regardless of how many they will have available.

They looked up my order, and I'm guessing the store that I'm supposed to pick up in as well. They said my email has been delayed do the high product demand. I might still call the store but I don't have much hope now I'll probably call around noon.

I was at the store this morning (apparently foolishly assuming my preorder would be there as promised) and they said that all their system showed was that it wasn't there and was 'on the way'. Nothing more specific. Told me not to come back til I got the email
 
Must be different for every BB because the lady at my local one said they received majority of the in store pre-orders and not the online ones.

It really is different for each store but I feel for you guys. I thought I was going to have the same issue up until they called late last night and said they came in. It's not the employees fault but they definitely should be more informed on what they will be receiving in.
 
I had my appt at 11am confirmed last night with the mobile guy and went I went there today, they did not have my phone. They said that the reservation made last night was based on them getting a shipment today but my phone was not that one. He said my phone will be on the later shipment and he will call me when it arrives. Not holding my breath. The whole thing is kind of ridiculous. You would think this is the first time they ever did a pre-order. i'm a little annoyed because I wiped my trade-in phone, but I'll survive I guess.
 
I got my email! The timestamp indicates that the email was sent 4 minutes after the store opened. Maybe they need time to process the phone inventory, or some trucks are late?

I went online and the one I ordered says shipping only we will be getting more in soon. I called Best Buy and they said their is a warehouse here in my town plus of course UPS and Fed-Ex and she said so far doesn't show it as being in but the warehouse could get it today but I am not counting on it. But I am off all day so maybe I will get a call later today who knows.
