BestBuy S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

I've been monitoring this thread for the past few days and wanted to post my update.

I'm in Orlando, FL and pre-ordered the 128GB Black Verizon version from Best Buy on the evening of 3/3. As of now, my order says "Preparing" (since 3/8) and my Cancel button is greyed out. I'm an optimist so i'm really hoping to get a delivery date/shipment confirmation by tomorrow but i realize i might have to wait longer!

It's especially frustrating since i already have my cases to try on deck!
 
I ordered last night at my local BB and ordered for pickup this morning. I gave up on my pre-order with BB. I pre-ordered on 2.20 for the s10+ 1tb and it's been delayed with no answer as to when it was going to come in so I just said forget it and ordered the prism white, which is very nice lol. I'll go get a micro SD and save a good amount of money.

I'm guessing you abandoned the $130 gift certificate/free buds by doing this? Or is there some possible way of still claiming?

Yes, I did. I lost out in the buds but that's okay, my fiancee is going to buy me the watch instead :) I would've loved to get the buds but I think I made the smarter decision since I'm leaving for work tomorrow and won't be back for a while.
 
I changed my mind. I ordered the s10+ prism white 128gb last night and got my pick up email right now.

I'm going to cancel my order for the 1tb and just pick up a memory card. Heading to BB in 30 mins when they open to get my phone.
I don't blame you beautiful. Best Buy be playing games to much. That phone is too good to wait for lol.
 
I was in the same boat as most of you but found something that might help. My local best buy which I pre-ordered from does not currently have the model I ordered (128 gb prism white with At&t) but has most other color models. However, other best buys that are a bit further from me do have the model I ordered in stock. Over the phone, they will likely say that they cannot let you pick up from another store as it would void the $50 activation discount and galaxy buds offer but when expressing my frustration and disappointment to the managers in the store, they offered to drive to the other best buy (around a 20 min drive each way) and pick it up so I can get it activated today. This is a huge relief considering that I was getting ready to wait till at least friday (March 15th) for a phone I was told to be given by the 8th. Hope this helps for those who have multiple local best buys with at least one BB carrying the model you wanted and for those who only have one local BB, I'm sorry as I can relate to the pain you are going through but in a few weeks once you get the phone, you'll likely be satisfied you waited and are still able to get the buds instead of cancelling the order. Hope this helps for some people!
 
This is true. We used to do it all the time. our general manager for best buy mobile lived 20 minutes in the next city. If we didnt have a phone in for a customer, she would contact them and set up a transfer. on her way to work the next day, she would pick the phone or phones up from that store and call the customer to let them know she has them in.

Some best buys would prefer not to transfer newly released devices. Because it can mess up their daily goals. if a customer comes in for that device and they dont have any in stock. But if they have several, they normally allow the transfer.

Just checked my vm and I missed a call from BB on Sat. They called to offer the blue phone instead and they would have still honored the pre-order offer. But they said they were only holding it until the end of Sat. :( I'm going to give them a call when they open to see if they have anything left.

I was in a similar situation with Best Buy. Pre-ordered on March 1st and was promised a March 8th pick up.

On March 9th when it still wasn't in I went to a different Best Buy and bought the exact same phone except for the color and I did the buds offer took a pic of my original pre-order sheet and they just excepted it!

Maybe since you purchased a lower storage tier than what was pre-ordered they will put it through. They may put it through anyway. Doesn't hurt to see if the offer shows up on Shop Samsung.

Same here about getting the April 7th email. Today around 11am, I saw the Verizon S10+ come in stock on BestBuy's website for my local store (said 3 available), they went out of stock in a few minutes and then I got my "Ready for Pickup" email. However, still shows no availability within 250 miles just like it has been showing.

Hope the rest of you get a similar email today.
 
My store has the S10+ in Prism white in stock it seems for pickup. Oh Bestbuy, such a mess u r..

Thank you, the offer did show up so I did submit for them. Let's see what happens.
 
I preordered a S10+ on verizon through BB on 2/22. I called on 3/8 and similar to a lot of people, they said the phone was not available and they didn't know when it would. Shortly after, my order status online changed to pickup delay and now says they will try to fulfill the order by 4/7, with no change since then. I did complain a bit on twitter and BB offered to send me a $25 gift card as an apology, so I would recommend trying that to at least get some of your accessories paid for. Overall, super frustrating experience and not worth the $50 off.
