BestBuy S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

Mine is saying the same. My card was charged Friday morning though and I went to my best buy today and they told me if they get it in earlier than the 8th they will let me know to come pick it up. I'm still planning on Friday for the pickup though but fingers crossed.

They told you that? I've only heard (from multiple people who work there) that they absolutely can't let those go anytime before the launch date of the 8th. Like others have said, if you ordered online for delivery you may get it a day or two early but not if you're picking up from Best Buy.

Kind of sucks, I am moving Fri-Sat and Sunday so Friday is a bad time to go pick up a new phone. Maybe I should have kept my order with Samsung : /

I used to work at Best Buy Mobile before they closed all the stores last year. And sometimes we were able to release phones early.

The decision, however, would come down from Samsung and Best Buy Corporate. We would be notified via our company email. Which everybody didn't check. So a lot of Best Buy employees would be unaware of releasing the device early.

So as it gets closer to Friday and when talking to a Best buy employee, I would ask them if any decision came down from corporate...and to check their email if possible. Especially with online orders being delivered a day or two early.

Cool thanks! I'll have to give that a shot, maybe they might because Samsung is shipping phones out early and people will start getting them two days earlier.

Does anyone have an idea how the Buds or e-gift certificate will work? I wonder since people are receiving their phones early if they will be able to redeem them early as well. If all we need is the order number we would be able to as well. Good chance they ask for the IMEI number as well though.

I'm being completely honest here, I wouldn't count on it. I gave Best Buy two chances for pre-orders and they screwed up both times. They are notorious for over promising and under delivering.

They offer great pre-order deals and then their store usually doesn't get enough phones to fulfill all of those pre-orders on release day.

So in my opinion, if you order this late in the game, I very highly doubt you would get it Friday. In fact, my buddy went into our local Best Buy yesterday and they told him they have pre-ordered a ton of S10's. Way more than previous releases.

You are taking a big risk by trying it, but it's ultimately up to you of course. You run the risk of not even getting it by the 15th.

I would talk to Best Buy and see if they can give you an idea of how many pre-orders they currently have. Because they only get a certain number of phones on release day. I personally don't trust them anymore.

Yeah I totally understand. I'm also a little concerned about trading in a phone with Samsung, but I'm prepared. I am going to take multiple pictures and videos of the phone from every which angle and it performing tasks. That way if they come back saying it doesn't work or something then I will have proof.

And I'm also going to package it to the point that not even a boulder could damage it lol.

Well I told him your getting this free case I think he chose this LED wallet case and I think he will get the buds right away with phone. Oh and Samsung it says buds will ship with device then it says sim card ships within 7 to 10 business days. And his phone still says the 15th and he has the cancel button. I keep hitting refresh every so often LOL! Oh well I just hope mine is waiting for me at Best Buy on Friday cause I am off work and will have the whole day to set it up I work the weekend. But my husband is still sleeping I told him the deal but am guessing he's not going to get up any earlier than he has to and go to Best Buy so he will just have to wait on Samsung.

They are saying that now. However an email can come down the pipes any day and any time, giving them permission to sale them early. Like when I worked there. I would be at work and sometime get an email in the evening stating we could release a device early. I know for for sure that was the case for the Galaxy S8 when that came out. I dont think we released the S9 series early.

Samsung direct orders are getting them early on 6th; some with an initial delivery date of 3/15!! I have an date 3/15 from Bestbuy. I hope to get it before the date. Anybody get any updates from Bestbuy?

No update from Best Buy for me yet. But my date is 3/8 so far.

That sucks because I canceled my order from Samsung because it gave me a 3/15 date. Thought I would have a better chance with Best Buy.

I did the same because I ordered 3 and two of them were going to be put on hold until the first one shipped. So I ordered all 3 through Best Buy. Now I'm wishing I had kept at least my phone order with Samsung, would be receiving it this Wednesday : /

They can't tell you how devices they have in. You can pre-order while thinking that you're gonna get your device on release date and then come release date, find out that is not the case. Best Buy's logic is that when you pre-order, that doesn't mean that you're gonna get your device on release day. It just means that you're gonna get a device....that's all.

I've experienced one other time where they did not get the phone the day of release. There's nothing they can really do about it though. This time around the employee actually showed me the pre-orders they had an I was the 7th total so he said I would be ok as long as they come in. He also kept saying their store wasn't a "busy store" so they would have plenty? I would think they wouldn't order as many in their store was not considered "busy". We'll see...
