BestBuy S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

Picked up both my blue & white S10 today at Best Buy. Everything went super smooth, thankfully. They even gave me a free "Samsung S10" t-shirt and Samsung pen. Hope it goes well for most of you as well.
 
On the 24th, I pre-ordered two devices, Verizon, in the store at a Best Buy in Manchester, Connecticut, with trade-ins and was promised March 8th deliveries, like many others.

One was for my son, S10 black. Other for me, S10 Plus in blue.

My BB had my son's phone today, but not mine. They did not get in the S10 Plus blues.

All of the purchasing options have various pros/cons. Go through Samsung with a trade-in and there is a strong and long history of Samsung rejecting phones returned for trade-in. Go through Verizon, the deals are not as good. Go through BB and the deals are the best, but they have an established history of over-promising and failing to deliver what they said they would do.

Very frustrating!!! Sucks that I set aside time for today to set up a new phone that Best Buy said I would have. Let alone the frustration of anticipation for something that does not arrive as promised.

On the bright side, ordering the free Samsung buds through the Shop Samsung app on S10 I got for my son was a breeze.

I know it sucks I was looking forward to setting up my phone on my day off today. Instead I am glued to the computer on here.
 
Heart break on this end. Finally got my email went in and it's all downhill from there. My SD card tray wouldn't open and noticed there was scuff from a drop. Finally take my dbrand skin off and wham Bam there is a whole section shattered :( no new phone for this guy for a while. Wish I had taken my skin off earlier to notice it wouldn't haven gotten all excited for this. 60 bucks trade in isn't worth it. Just going to have to wait for price drop later this summer. Hope everything works out for everyone else and enjoy the new phones!
 
What I'm afraid will happen is those of us who ordered early to make sure we got our phones on release will get screwed with the buds because we won't have phones to register from to get the buds and they'll run out like Samsung did...
 
Well I just called to check and I feel sorry for the employee. You could tell he had been getting some angry calls today. I live an hour away from Best Buy or any real store so I only called so I could plan the rest of my day. Even though mine still says pick up on March 8 he said if they have not called by now it is probably not in and it could be a few weeks. (I ordered an S10+ 128 prism black) Good thing I am a patient person but a few weeks is a vague time frame. All I could do was thank him for the update he is just passing along the message. I used BB because they offered the best price and trade, I guess the trade off is the wait.

So just after I posted this I just recieved 2 emails from Best Buy asking me to review my S10+ purchase from today. Apparently their systems do not talk to each other. I should start the review by saying this phone is so light it is like it is not even in my hand.

When You go on samsung app to register for buds it asked to see you pre order form. You just take a picture of the paper Best Buy gave you when you preordered. You IME for your new phone automatically comes up when you are registering. You should be good.
 
Best buy is the only option for those of us that want to buy Verizon devices at full price. When the pixel 3 came out every no Verizon store would sell it to me. I was so confused why they didn't want my 900 cash ������

Why not take it on the payment plan, then just pay off the device after the first bill?

Have to admit, I feel bad for BB employees themselves on phone release days. They get stuck doing a lot of listening, getting blessed out, and apologizing, for the mess that BB corporate puts them in over these phone pre-order debacles of overselling, overpromising, and lack of communication.
 
Yeah, that will happen, but like Samsung.com there is a limited supply for carriers and store. We may get bumped to the $130 e gift certificate if we do not register early. And if we want to get the buds with the e-certificate that's probably going to be a lonnnnng wait too because they'll be sold out to use it for. Whole thing is just a giant cluster **** and I will NEVER pre-order from Samsung again. Third strike against them by doing that.

Just got back from picking mine up (Blue 128GB).

My appointment was for 11am, but I went in at 10:30am, they asked for my name and said they would got and get my phone but I would not be able to get it until 11am. I was like okay, no problem. After 15 minutes, lady comes back and says are you sure that you phone was ready? I told her, I got a confirmation by e-mail and also was called last night to setup an appointment for 11am. She said okay let me look again.

She leaves me for another 15 minutes and still can't find the phone and I am like damn, this is going to happen to me. When she comes back, she asks a lady who is helping another customer with their phone, and she says, "Oh I have that phone, I pulled it because I new he was going to come in at 11" and I was like DAMN this just might work out.

So at 11am, I traded in my Note 8, they didn't even look at it hardly and gave me the 550 discounts and then I paid the rest in cash and headed into work. Now I am setting it up and getting everything looking how I want it.

Good luck to the others who have not gotten theirs yet, I have my fingers crossed for you.

No phone for me today. BB confirmed they didn't get any S10+ 1TBs in today but they will be getting shipment the next few days so hopefully I'll see it by next week.

Congrats! Lucky You! I'm off today and keep telling myself should I take a shower and be ready just in case but I am not hopeful on my pink one. Even though they get trucks in all day I am not counting on it.
 
Just got email that mine shipped finally S10+ blue, Verizon carrier, says it should be here on Tuesday, a few days later, but i'll live with it as its saving me 3$ a month vs buying it direct from Verizon.
 
I preordered on Feb 25 the S10 plus white and S10 flamingo pink thru best buy... Today I was able to only get the s10 plus prism white, the flamingo pink wasnt available for pickup and I dont know when best buy will have it :-\

I know no-one has the Pink! I'm waiting on an S10 plus in pink.
