Beta 4 arrived

Mine too, Mustang. I'm liking beta 4 so far.
looks like my wallpaper stretching fixed
Well, I completely agree with everyone here! Wallpaper stretching in landscaping is officially fixed, gestures are smoother, everything's much smoother more fluid lock screen works faster. battery life seems to be slightly improved. Android auto for me sort of works but still extremely and then consistent unfortunately. I will say this what I realize about Android gesture UI is that I remember where the soft keys on the bottom of the screen and previous Android versions, to multitask you hit the square button to access the most recent applications. If you want to quickly toggle between two apps all you did was double tapped the multitasking button. In sort of the same. Now, all you do is swipe up and hold to get to the overview screen and then swipe to the left or right to switch in between two of your most recent applications. I was thinking of a backwards slightly.

What I've also noticed is that launching notifications from the notification shade is faster and smoother and more responsive finally. Everything seems to be more fluid wow!

Eric how's andriod auto working ?

I should note that the only thing I've noticed in my 2XL is that when I reboot the phone I get a message that the Phone app has stopped working.
I filed a bug about that back in Beta 3 and just recently they indicated that they thought it should be fixed in Beta 4; it's not, so I followed up with more logs.
You should report it too.

The stuff you been reporting they been fixing? Like the swipe away in both directions on pull down notifications I was surprised it was fix with this update I did complain about it.

Honestly, I'm not even using Android Auto still. Unfortunately, it still barely works which 8s getting very frustrating to me and I'm shocked Google hasn't fully fixed that issue yet. like I said I'm I reported it as a bug report so knows what will happen unfortunately.

See, now that's a good question...

I would think yes , but maybe didn't come with a solution yet.
basically, the rep that I spoke to on the phone from Google said that since it is still technically beta even though it's Beta 4, I should not expect Android Auto to work. Until the final release which is late September

I mean its possible , but I dont see that happening , plus dont believe too much in a Rep sometimes they are not informed with plans in beta or fixes they working on.

yeah you know as well as I know that every single time the new beta is released, I get hopeful but nothing actually happens. I mean is barely been an improvement from beta 1 to beta 4 for my Android Auto. Sure my phone just like all of our phones running beta 4 our smooth as hell fluid responsive etc.

They have yet to fix anything I've reported, although many of the issues have been with 3rd party applications.
I have reported Google application issues but those haven't been fixed yet either.
And of course I've requested feature changes/additions (ex. allow user to restrict boot permission for applications, since too damn many apps think they need to run at startup and I think they only need to run when I click the app icon) and those are highly unlikely to show up but this is my opportunity to complain so I'm taking advantage of it.
Fonts on the Lockscreen are one thing that has recently changed, though, and that is something I filed about.

Yes, definitely I agree with you. The lock screen and always on ambient display got better when you're listening to music and you can still view the weather. I do like to lock icon on the top of the lock screen versus the bottom of the lock screen where you don't usually ever see it anyways. That's nice part. Gestures definitely got some of them easier to use thankfully. also considering his voice typing constantly, that got smoother and faster and more responsive. Versus having to wait for It to start listening to you then talking like a robot just make sure it hears you and types out clearly.

Gotcha
Its funny you talk about running apps at start up , I remember a guy in the forums with a Huawei phone they have the option to keep certain apps from running when start up which i thought was pretty cool to have that control. I still wish AOD can be like Samsung with more options.

The only thing from AOD that I would slightly miss is the picture but I can easily live without it. It's really not too big of a deal to me.

I was thinking more in lines of schedule AOD and auto brightness

okay make a little bit more sense. I'm just glad that when you're using Chromecast, or listening to music, that the always on display doesn't phase out the weather anymore. That was a bit annoying.
