Beware Samsung Trade Ins

I'm supposed to send mine to Lewisville TX, is that the same facility as Coppell? Google Maps show them as being 7.6 miles apart, so I'm guessing it is :(
Samsung trade in or carrier trade in? From what I know I think Samsung trade ins are going to Coppell, TX or Tennessee

Also it's weird tech sites aren't reporting this ****, so that it puts pressure on Samsung to fix this horrible customer experience.

Re: Trade In Lie

I intended to because I couldn't get Android Auto to work with my 2022 Jeep. I rely heavily on Google maps and that was a deal breaker but while waiting on the return of the S22, my S23 got an update and AA works now so I'll keep it.

Re: Trade In Lie

Actually, I made the original post in that thread. My bad for not adding this one there.

My trade-in was with Samsung, and it went to La Vergne, TN. I video taped the reset process, and phones condition, along with the IMEI and the boxing up process. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't run into any issues.

Tennessee you are good to go from the reports we have seen here. Good luck

I got the email yesterday that Samsung received my S22 Ultra trade in. Today I got the email saying it was cracked. I immediately called and after the rep viewed the unboxing video removed the charge.

My mom's trade in went to Tennessee. They said that her battery was bulging and it wasn't wiped. She sent pics through chat with Samsung and they gave her dull credit. My hubby's and mine went to Texas on trade in and we didn't have any issues. Maybe TX is doing better now.

Always take a video of your trade in as you box it up.

Did you send it to Coppell, TX or a different Texas facility?

I purchased an S23 Ultra and sent my S22 in as a trade in. The phone was always kept in a two piece clamshell case and maintained in like new condition. I just received an email from Samsung stating the S22 did not meet their return standards as there was a cracked screen/body. I know for 100% certainty the phone was flawless when I sent it in and protected in the same materials the new phone was shipped in. If you are planning on returning a phone for trade in, do yourself a favor and preserve video documentation of your phones condition. I decided to return the S23 and requested they return my S22.

I learned a hard lesson with ATT when they refused my rebate claiming they never got my S7 trade in. Now I video EVERY step of the pricess.

Sadly, when that happened to me, AT&T wasn't persuaded by all of my photos and proof of handing off to USPS. I do take photos and a video showing it reset these days, but the reality is... there's still a lot of room for interpretation. Short of wearing a camera and filming from reset to drop off maybe? If they wanted to, I'm sure they'd argue even that. lol

I'm very sorry. Can you file a police report? Sounds like a crime to me. Someone opened the box, took your phone and sealed it up again.

That's what my husband and I are planning. He was in a business trip and just got back. We are going to call our credit card company and see what our options are. Our purchase were insured through the credit card. We will also contact Samsung.

I received the same email about a cracked screen. I called them and told them my phone was in perfect condition. The rep did mention she had to review the unboxing video. She returned a few minutes later and apologized. The phone met all conditions.

Next time I will be making my own boxing video.
