Biometrics update rolling out

It says security patch, meaning it most likely won't improve the fps experience, but instead make it more secure, probably since all these articles said it was easy to hack it

Really? I went into the Galaxy store app just now, went into three-dot menu, selected "all", and selected "apps". Samsung stuff like Smart Switch, Notes, Gear 360, Car Mode, etc. are listed but nothing like fingerprint or biometric or security. And this article on this very website shows a screenshot that looks like a regular Android system update screen: https://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s10

I will say, the system update I downloaded today was something like 512 MB, and the screen shot from the article is showing a 6 MB update....sooo I dunno...

It's rolling out slowly so you'll get it soon. It looks to be staggered roll out.

Got the notification, but it continually fails to complete the installation. No matter how many times I try. And after restarting my phone. And after clearing the cache. Any suggestions?

I have seen similar reports on Reddit as well that it fails to install for some people. Unfortunately haven't seen anyone post any resolution.

I deleted my previously recorded fingerprints and re-did them... Still about the same.
With the new software update I would consider re-registering new prints. Unless there is a change log to detail what do you update entails they could have done stuff like reduce the number of minutiae points in order for a successful match or they could have a changes on the registering of the fingerprints where they produced the level of depth in the 3D. For all you know they may actually have change from making a detailed 3D image to basically making a 2D image to reduce the complexity. That would be funny 2D image with an ultrasonic sensor.

Got it in Canada. Fps is now alottt faster. It use to work well for me but it was slow.

I got the update on my AT&T S10. I don't really notice a difference.

EDIT: well I do notice it gets to the home screen faster but hasn't really improved the accuracy of the reader.

This update showed up on my phone today. I'm going to download it soon. as mentioned above it shows up as a download on the Galaxy store.

The fingerprint sensor is greatly improved. It's more responsive. Seems to allow for more latitude in the amount of pressure that needs to be applied. It's also faster.

The accuracy has to do with how you register your fingerprints. For those still having trouble with the thumbs, you might want to try registering your index fingers as well.

LOL! Well, here's to the power of the placebo effect, eh? I could swear it was faster with what I downloaded. Oiy!

Still no update that through my Galaxy Store app. Oh well, I'll get it when it decides to show up.

Just got off a chat with Samsung support, and tried installing in Safe Mode. Still unable to install the update. Support suggested going to my US Cellular store for help. Not sure what they're going to be able to do

Mine failed like 4 times but I kept pressing update and it finally worked.

That's called passing the buck. I'm surprised they didn't tell you to send the phone in, or you have to return it for a refund and reorder one. US Cellular isn't going to be able to fix it, but maybe they will exchange it
