Biometrics update rolling out

Just got the Galaxy Store update this morning (already had the security patch via a firmware update). I've only tried a few unlocks but qualitatively, it does seem faster and more reliable.

Finally got mine this morning

Do you see any improvements? I never seem to have any issues on unlocking with fingerprint, only added my finger once and I probably have 1 in 100 not recognised and that was before the update.

Added my wife finger and she, having never used the fingerprint reader, has also never had an issue.

I didn't have any real issues before but it's hard to tell right now because I just noticed a thin crack in the screen protector that runs across the FPS and fingers are a little dry coming in from the cold.

What screen protector are you using?

The one that Samsung shipped my device with is hanging on for dear life! I ordered one from Viral Merc which apparently works with the FPS, we'll soon find out if that claim is true!

I finally got the update this morning. I wasn't really having any issues prior to the update...the FPS has been working very well for me. I went ahead and re-registered my fingerprints after the update completed. Can't really tell much difference so far, but it didn't make things work any worse, so I'm good with that!

Got my update overnight on VZW. I haven't done a bunch of unlocks yet, but it seems to be faster.

Got mine overnight. Unlocked phone running on Verizon. So far can't tell much of a difference. My index finger always worked well. Going to re-register my thumb which had been hit or miss.

This update is simply not working out for me. I have been getting it for a few days now, and it kept on failing with the message "can't install", over and over like that. Finally, I installed the March update last night, then tried again and the same error was occurring. Next, I took the advice from somebody on Reddit to remove the fingerprints, re-add them, and try again. Since I removed the fingerprints the update has now completely disappeared and even after re-adding the fingerprints, the update does not re-appear any more. It did not complete successfully. It just simply does not exist any more. No notification, no update, nothing, not even after restarts. I am sitting on 2.0.4.1, the old version.

Same exact thing here. I had a bad WiFi connection, though. Tried twice then let it sit (planning to try once I got to a WiFi) but now it's gone without a trace and still on 4.1

Got the update notification this morning on my unlocked model running on T-Mobile in the US. Seems a little better.

I find that the real problem is just getting the finger in the right spot when the screen is off. I have a 100% success rate with the new update when the screen is on and I know exactly where to put my finger to unlock it. With the screen off, I have about an 80-90% success rate if I just pop the phone out of my pocket and hit the screen without much thought. If I really look at the screen and pull some Jedi mind tricks, I'm able to get closer to 95% success rate of logging in with a fingerprint.

Mine seems to work almost every time now.

But then again I did a few things before I got there. After I got the March Security update, I did a factory reset, like I usually do after the monthly updates, and then I got the FPS update again, then I deleted and readded my finger print.

Now it works great! But a fiend of mine isn't having as much luck, although he didn't do a factory wipe like I did.

Okay, I'm going to re-register my prints and was wondering if I should restart the phone before or after I re-register the prints?
