Bionic 9/1 release date?

Ahh crap guys............. idk if any of you read but remember how dablackmamba said that his GM told them to "prepare as if they we'rent getting either of the two flagship phones"......I think that might be him hinting that the bionic will be relesed later I mean of course we'll findout in a few weeks but this will be a hard blow to everyone if its true! And if it is....... hello iphone 4 til september bionic release!!

Wow, if the Bionic's delayed until 09/01 that's going to be bad news for Motorola.

I was thinking the 07/28 launch date made sense because that's the same day Motorola's scheduled to release their Second Quarter Earnings - I'm betting Sanjay's going to need some good news to offset all the bad news Motorola's had so far this year.

If the 09/01 date proves to be true that's really stretching the "Summer" release that was promised months ago. Every day Motorola delays the launch of the Bionic is just one day less someone has to wait for the new Nexus with ICS.

I swear we should all here go on Motorola twitter site and just tweet on their page "I hope the bionic isn't coming out on 9/1 if that's the case than bye bye Motorola" than they bond to tell us the release date, but we need a strong army for that..any1 down?

IF the September rumor ends up being true, then I will just hold on to my DX for a little longer and see if a better phone comes out from one of the other companies. Maybe the "End of waiting" for me might be a Sammie or other device. They would only be hurting themselves by holding back a heavy device like the Bionic.

The biggest thing for me was being grandfathered in to unlimited. Since I have that, I am in no rush and will be patient for a good phone, no matter who makes it.

I agree. I want the bionic because its gonna be a strong phone. But the lte is going to be the biggest factor. If this phone is being delayed till true end of summer, I'm gonna wait for an even better phone. A phone that wasn't cancelled and probably rushed to get out and failed by a failing company.

Its funny though, I say that but if it comes out end of this month I'd be all over it. I guess its because I know of no other better phones planned to come out on Verizon. But I feel I would find out there is one in between now and September.

I can't believe moto made these decisions. It just seems... poor. Very poor form arriving this late to the lte show. But then again Samsung, LG, and HTC didn't make a real big splash either arriving early. I still feel early August though. Wasn't that Droid x's release date last year? Thought they may stick to that cycle. I guess I have very mixed emotions on this leak. Blegh! Phones, who needs em! Haha

same...im just gonna camp out.... snatch the bionic if it comes up by 8/8 otherwise i'll just camp out till i get a dual core, lte phone with a gig of ram and/or ddr2 memory

I'm in the exact same position. I bought a Droid X from Ebay and I'm locked in to Unlimited Data - I'm in no hurry to buy a new phone and I'm increasingly curious to learn more about the new Nexus that's rumored to be launched in November.

I also recall that "Black Friday" (the day following Thanksgiving) was a great time to buy a phone last year - I'm betting all the carriers will have similar deals this year.

How can anyone take this seriously when he provides zero actual evidence of a 9/1 release date? It's no different then people coming on here and claiming they "know a guy" that said this or that.
