Seeing as it's someone that covers Droid news and has his own site, why would he spread lies? That would only hurt his reputation and cause people to find news elseware. While the date may not be set in stone, it's definitely something to think about. If you go through some of the threads on HoFo, you can see that some insiders were originally saying late August or September for the release date of the Bionic.

I never claimed he was lying. I just don't hold his statement to anything more than a guess when he provides no proof, regardless of his reputation.

Who knows what's true or not really? It'd be nice if he provided some proof to the possible delay til 9/1. Guess we'll find out soon enough (not really I want to know now!)
Exactly. Kellex/DL doesn't spread bad info and if they are unsure about things they always add the grain of salt to their stories.
Secondly, as mentioned Winston said a while back the Bionic would release no less than a month AFTER the Droid 3. So this is not really anything new and shouldn't be a surprise.

It has been speculated that the next iPhone is releasing in September. I also thought it was odd that they would wait that long to release the Bionic, as it is only going to hurt Motorola's sales. Although anyone that is getting the iPhone is obviously not concerned about 4G, but 34% of them will think they have it anyway lol.
Remember the twitter from a month ago. Moto said slated for a summer release. September would be out of that window.
Typically the summer months are limited to June, July, August...not including the moon and stars and solstices and equinoxes

Well I was looking back at the Thunderbolt for reference and saw that the signup page for it came on 2/15. The phone was released on 3/17. Not sure if it'll be the same for the Bionic but we'll see.
Actually, it ends September 5th. Kellex doesn't exactly have a perfect hitting average, though.
Edit: Just realized there were a lot of other replies. xD Basically, September could happen. As much as it would suck.
