I just got back from a VZW store. Both my mom and I are due for an upgrade. I just hope that the bionic comes out before I have to go to college in late August. I can only wait and see.

Rumors have the D3 releasing July 7. If there's merit to the "2 months after D3", that would put it in early September. I wonder if the "2 months" is really a hard timeframe though as we've also heard mid to late August, which would still be in the ballpark of 2 months.

He generally knows his stuff, so I'm thinking it's a tip that 8/18 is the target release date. Just more speculation to fuel the Bionic fires...

I'm with you there. And to me it makes logical sense to do so since there will be somewhat of a feature progression (at least from a high-level standpoint). The GSII could be released as a 3G device and weeks later, a similar spec'd device in the Bionic that adds LTE could be released. Should the actual release date for the Bionic slip to early September, I think it only adds to the possibility of the GSII being released beforehand as well.

Since Moto has only stated the Bionic will be out this summer, we have between June 21st thru September 23rd to wait, oh what fun those 3 months & 2 days will be.

I think I'm going to spend full price to upgrade to the Bionic. I have the 4g card and I love the speeds of it. I didn't think I would find 4G useful since it's all mobile but this was also my first Android and I was wrong. It's much faster then my BB9550 but still want something faster. Time to get some BB gifts cards from my travel rewards!

My Father-in-law is a manager for Wal-Mart, (I know, not very credible) but he got word that the Bionic isn't coming out till September. This coming from Verizon. Take it for what it's worth.

If Motorola and Verizon wait to try and go head to head with the nxt iphone 4s its really stupid. I don't see them as equals in competition, Android users want android products, iphone users want iphone products. but to release a phone head to head when you could actually be taking down business NOW is a better move. Motorola can always push the added benefits of the Bionic later near the launch time.

Plus as we all know the tech media are sheep, anything apple related will take the headlines over any other announcement so its will go unheard.

Make the splash now and lock in the last batch of unlimited users before July 7th sell the phone like crazy, build huge demand and get the phones out the door.
