On a serious note though I am in agreement. I'm tired of it and just want a device that just works OTB. I don't want to have to root,flash and tweak my handsets anymore. Give me a killer phone that all I need to do is activate and let me be on my way.

No interest anymore. Been there done that. OG Droid is a warhorse and I have massaged every ounce of performance out of her so many different ways I lost count. Was fun but its time to move up and on.......

Been there done that, sums it up for me. I am so glad I had a Droid for ever. What a blast. I agree, google's OS has had time to grow up. I am ready to jump on that grown up OS, that should now be polished enough to make any device rock OTB. If manufacturers butcher that, then it is their own house that must accept full responsibility. I find running dual OSs (say linux side loaded) useful at times, but a webtop OS that must run when not docked just doesn't sound healthy.

Well considering how long this device has been delayed, I would expect it to follow Moto's new policy of having unlocked bootloaders, I'd say they got that message loud and clear. It wouldn't make sense for them to release a flagship device that pushes people away because of a locked bootloader, not as badly as they need this thing to be a major hit in the marketplace. Moto's always had good kernels, and I'm expecting it to come with Gingerbread. The VZW Xoom is getting it now, so its there for Tegra 2, and if the Bionic is OMAP 4, I see no reason for them to bother with an outdated version of the OS on cutting edge hardware.

So, there's a good chance we'll see a strong kernel, an unlocked bootloader, and Gingerbread out of the box. Meaning that a simple root to disable Motoblur, suspend Webtop, and remove VZW's bloatware may be all that's needed to make this a perfect device out of the box.

Cruiserdude I'd like nothing more than to agree with you but unfortunately I can't.

As long as Blur is running on it you can bet your arse it will be locked down. Our only shot at an unlocked device from them is if they release it stock/vanilla and then MAYBE.

I know what you mean...even if Moto was close enough to drop some specs; anything CONCRETE would be nice. At least it would give us something to discuss until it actually hits the market!

I agree! Something, anything, a picture of the battery door maybe, or how much the thing weighs. Anything that is or has been CONFIRMED. Come on MOTO quit laggin!

I'm new to this site so forgive me if I seem naive - but is this standard operating procedure for VZW? I mean first the bionic then the charge now the revolution and nothing from Verizon. Not a word or explaination? Nothing? Maybe I was better off before I found this site? I probably would have gotten an iphone 4 by now and would have been none the wiser walking around with year old tech and thinking I was cutting edge Unfortunately I found this site and I now know too much and it's killing me knowing what could be out there but isn't and not have any info as to why.

With all respect- there has only been one relative, somewhat informative post in this entire thread.

Then, there are about 30 or so Bionic fans speculating about what the first post meant. And then there is 1 or 2 annoying posters who want other phones yet come here to smirk and be smuggy.

The original vague post was a big enough tease- these other 100 posts are driving me nuts! I wish I could have a no-speculating rule here, but alas, it is not my website

Where did you get the BMX info from? I know he usually post on the forum. Is this some old info about the Original Bionic or about the New?
