Bionic's still coming, is defintely new hardware - XT875

Hi, my first post. Been awaiting Bionic since CES because it finally had all that I have looked for. I'm still carrying a Silver RAZR. I was devastated when I saw Sprint introduce the Photon. It's what was introduced to US at CES, and truly the form factor is appealing too. I've been with big red for 2 decades though and require dependable service. I liked the idea of a 4.5" screen, those of us with bi-focaled eyes appreciate as big a picture as we can get. The GSII release changes things too. Similarly configured and powered w/o WT and w/SAMOLED. I'm going to have to hold each of them to see just how they look and feel. It's actually good for all of us to see the competition heating up. All we need now are actual delivery dates. Keep up the great work.

Wow...I'm not quite in that position. I'm on an original Bb Curve...no touch...no WiFi...just a cracked screen and trackball that constantly sticks and gives me problems. I can't wait to get my first touch screen and Android. I've been eligible for an upgrade for nearly over a year. I'd love it if both were released at the same time and could hold them both side by side, but I suspect they will not, and I'll take the first dual core / LTE phone released.

IF this phone ever comes out and the display is anywhere close to as good as what the SAMOLED+ is, the Bionic will likely be my next phone come August/September when I'm due for an upgrade. I'll FINALLY be and to join the Android revolution and say good-bye to my POS TouchPro2 WinMo phone!!!!

Here We Go Again - Another Bionic 4.5 Screen Claim

OSM posted this article "Galaxy S2 vs Photon 4G vs Sensation: Difficult Decisions?" where they claim CEO's from Sprint & Motorola sat in a lunch meeting.

At the bottom of the article it says "Also to complicate matters further, the Droid Bionic is set to release also sometime in the summer with a bigger 4.5-inch screen, faster dual-core processor and the same 8MP camera." Geesh!

Also my first post... and like you i am carrying a silver RAZR... that has been ran over by a Camry... I just wish they would release the phone already... If this phone is 4.5 that will seal the deal for me... Also i dont care how fashionable this phone is, I plan on sporting a solid case anyway...

You sounds like me. I don't care if my phone is the size of a brick. I carry it in a belt holster and have huge hands.

They're probably just going off of the various blog sites that posted the pics and info a week or so ago. Rumors feeding rumors.

Yes they are. OSM, Pop Herald, Product Reviews, Gizmo Crunch, and about 8 other websites do nothing but repost same BS they read on blogs or off of eachothers websites. About every day they release the same story on a different website and post it like new information. Check out this piece of trash posted over at Product Reviews today.. If this doesn't get you steamed I don't Know what will.

The big question we want to know though, is a new version of Motoblur enough to persuade you to drop your negative opinions on Motoblur? Even the name is a sign of frustration for many Motorola users, we?d bet a lot a lot of you would love it if they decide to change the name completely for the release of the Droid Bionic this Summer ? now that would attract added interest.

Droid Bionic release with Motoblur is a headache for consumers

Just go and look at the Droid X2 - it has a dual core processor, and lags when you switch between screens. Kind of disappointing.

That's scary. Aren't we looking at essentially the same hardware in the Bionic?

no. if rumor holds true, the Targa/Bionic will now have OMAP, not Tegra; and, will be 1.2 (or maybe 1.5) ghz, and not 1.0. also, Targa is supposed to have ddr2 ram - not sure about the Photon.

this is just my take, but it looks like Moto is taking the original Bionic (that we saw at CES) and releasing it on Sprint as the Photon. and, the phone that was called the Bionic, and destined for VZW, certainly appears to have been replaced by the Targa, that was already in development for release on VZW in Q3.

I hope that's the issue. The more time I spend here the more I'm leaning toward the SGS2.
