Bookmark the 'New Tab' tab?

Does Dolphin have an equivalent of the Firefox about:newtab page that could be bookmarked? I'm interested because I have my most-visited sites in the Dolphin speed dial, and would like to be able to fire up a new tab straight from the Android home screen (while still keeping the ability to switch to Dolphin normally, staying on my existing tab). It seems like the ideal way to do this would be to essentially bookmark the new tab uri and link to the bookmark from the home screen, but I'm not sure what I need to bookmark. (If you just try to bookmark a new tab, it gives you the name New tab, but the address is just http://, which obviously can't be bookmarked.)
