I have Froyo+2.4 super clean. How do i put the boot animations on. Im trying to put the halo reach (not the GIF one.. the second one listed). Theres no System/media/video directory.

Drop it in the System/media folder - that should accomplish what you need.

Current kernel does not allow for sound on boot animations. Have to wait until the devs get their hands on source code to put out custom kernels

I am not certain that r3d2 had sound to begin with.. I never installed that animation on my phone..

You are completely correct current kernel doesn't support sound.

Cannot wait for the source code to get released.. undervolt would REALLY be nice!!

Agree on the undervolted. Hopefully it will address a lot of the battery drain issues everyone is having. I'm still having trouble with switching between themes. I created 4 nandroid backups set up the same way, sc 2.4, theme, adry's full batt pop up disable, maint pack, & nuance. First build was with Touch of Blue. Then Blackish Storm, SuperDark, & nitsuj17's black Aosp. Created each one by booting to recovery & flashing everything one after the other, ROM, theme, batt pop up, maint, & nuance. When I was all done the only one I could restore without getting hung up in a fc loop at the boot animation was Touch of Blue. Can't seem to figure out what is happening.

I have encountered a couple of threads where guys have had to pull their files from their sdcards, format them the card, then put the files back on. This was recommended because backups were corrupted due to mounting errors that happened with the old CWM red/green recovery.

I don't know of any successes - the threads stopped being updated.

I could only guess that could be the problem. The only time I got stuck in a loop was issues related to Swype and my attempts to remove it..

When I was running SC2.6 I saved a copy of the Honeycomb theme boot animation. I went back to SC2.4 and just tried to install the Honeycomb boot animation .zip from CWM and i've been stuck at:

Honeycomb_Bootanimation.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update... (stuck here)

for the past... oh... 4 or 5 minutes. Last few times I've flashed boot animations it has taken under a minute tops. Anyone know if i just caused myself a problem since to boot ani was from Honeycomb theme 2.6 and I'm trying to install it on SC2.4 (using Steel Blue V1.1 theme with boot ani)??

Should i just wait it out or what? If no, how do i get out of this stalled CWM screen?

I just did a battery pull and rebooted. All seems well and working fine.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed or not (or if I'm dumb for asking since its just a boot ani) but can I install the Honeycomb Theme boot animation for SC 2.6 framework on SC 2.4?

When i was on SC2.6 i saved a copy of JUST the boot animation (Root explorer: /system/media bootanimation.zip) because I really liked it. Would it be possible to use it on SC 2.4? My theme is Steel Blue V1.1 and it has a cool boot ani, but i really liked the honeycomb one.

Think I'm going to try just replacing & renaming the boot animation in /system/media with the honeycomb boot animation and see what happens

Edit: Work and going back to school as an adult has really put a hindrance on my 'me time' with my Android phone and learning all this stuff! LOL =)

You should be able to swap out the bootanimation.zip files as long as the format is similar. That is why we can copy many of the animation files from other phones.

I believe that SC 2.6 requires the bootanimation.zip to be placed in a different directory system/media

Here is a link to the honeycomb boot from Superclean 2.x. You will need to either push this to your phone with adb or copy with Root Explorer over the current bootanimation.zip

Help with changing Boot animation

I'm trying to change my boot animation to Android peeing on Apple bootanimations. But i cant seem to figure out to do it. Any help? i'm super clean 2.6

Go to root explorer, system>media, then rename the existing bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.old

Then paste the Animation you want in there and rename it bootanimation.zip

Then you're good to go
